Customer Review Summary
Coffee draws the most praise at Damsons, described as excellent, smooth and exceptional, with one reviewer calling the mocha the best they have had. The cakes are called superb, and the food close behind is said to be cooked to perfection, from breakfast to lunch plates, including an Eggs Benedict with bacon. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, polite and welcoming. Reviewers also mention the airy, clean room, the outside area and the good seating for someone with chronic pain. The complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found service slow, another says it can be noisy at busy times, and a third found the small room hot and stuffy, with no air conditioning and a strong smell of food. One suggests booking in advance because it gets busy. A diner who enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea was shocked to be charged extra for additional drinks, with no warning from staff or on the website.

“We had a really lovely lunch at Damsons Coffee House. The food was really tasty and cooked to perfection, the staff were all very friendly too. Couldn't fault it!”

“Lovely staff members. Nice service, coffee/food 4 stars because it is a quite small space with no AC, hot and stuffy air and strong smell of all foods. Needs more air, otherwise nice :)”

“Lovely place, clean & fresh. Service slow but very polite & helpful. We had a delicious afternoon tea at £23 each When we came to pay we were very shocked to be charged extra for additional drinks. It would have been nice for a member of staff to have informed us, or even mention it on the website. We haven't experienced this anywhere else, drinks are usually in copious amounts at no extra charge.”

“First time I've been, I used to live in the village 30 years ago, when the building was still a post office. Which is why I was surprised at the Tardis-like space and airy brightness of Damsons. Also, GREAT seating if, like me, you have chronic pain issues. The food was *perfectly* cooked and super-tasty and all the staff were just the best, soooo friendly and welcoming. You know, the opposite of corpo coffee places. We had such a chill time, we'll def be going back. Can't praise Damsons enough!”
