About The Greenery Darley Abbey
The Greenery Darley Abbey is a family-run cafe bar at 67 Church Ln in Derby, on the way to the Darley Abbey walking path. Dogs are welcome, and the cafe gives them a complimentary puppaccino, while children get a free babychino. Coffee comes with complimentary biscoff biscuits, and cakes sit alongside it on the menu. The light bite list covers soup, toasties and cheese on toast, and the owner keeps adjusting it. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks are poured for anyone who wants something other than coffee. Ice creams round out the menu.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the draw most reviewers raise, described as delicious, piping hot and good quality, and several pair it with cake that one calls moist and tasty. Close behind is the welcome: reviewers repeatedly describe friendly staff and a family-run feel, with the owner stopping to chat with first-time visitors. One reviewer calls the beer spot on, and another says lunch food arrives very quickly. Diners also describe a pleasant atmosphere, with a buzz of conversation and families when busy and a cosy spot when quiet, and several single out the toilets as lovely. A few mention stopping in before or after a walk on the Darley Abbey path. The complaints are small. One reviewer found a customer's constantly barking dog on a lap made conversation impossible, and another hit card machine trouble that staff sorted quickly while they waited to order another drink. Small extras recur in the reviews: a free babychino for one reviewer's daughter, complimentary biscoff biscuits with coffee, and a puppaccino for a well behaved dog.

“Regularly visit for lunch or just for a coffee and have had one great experience after another. The food is consistently great and arrives very quickly. The coffee is delicious too - a serious consideration. The atmosphere is very pleasant. When busy there's a healthy buzz of conversation, lots of families enjoying their time. When quiet it's a nice cosy spot to relax with a coffee. But what sets the place apart from other venues in the area is the service. A warm welcome every time; never made to feel as though you're in the way or that the team are too busy to help you. Proudly family-run and it shows, in a good way.”

“Really lovely cafe! Food and drinks were delicious, and service was fantastic. They had some issues with the card machines, but were great to get it sorted asap. We were very happy to wait for it to get fixed so that we could order another drink to take away. Will definitely be back here again next time I’m in the area!”

“I just visited The Greenery at Dolly Abbey, Derby, and I wanted to leave a review. The place was absolutely lovely — a beautiful, peaceful environment with stunning aesthetic interior choices. It’s definitely worth the money, and I had a wonderful experience.”

“Stumbled across this place with my husband today and was so happy we did! Great atmosphere inside, coffee and cakes were delightful and the staff are super friendly. We even had a little chat with the lovely owner who was so welcoming and mentioned it was a family business with her daughters. Great little find and we’ll be making the journey from Ashbourne to visit again soon! The toilets were lovely too 😃”
