Customer Review Summary
The Full English is what most reviewers come for, praising the black pudding, the streaky bacon crisped to perfection and eggs described as fresh. One notes it is cooked fresh to order, with a little wait. Close behind is the drink side: freshly squeezed orange juice, hot and tasty coffee, good quality tea and flavoured milkshakes, plus an Acai kick smoothie called delicious. Others mention a fresh and tasty Mediterranean breakfast, wraps with gluten free versions and a breakfast baguette. Reviewers repeatedly describe friendly staff, clean premises and reasonable prices for the portions. The caveats are modest. One finds the Full English a little pricey and the sausages a little dull, another calls the sausages small though delicious, and one says parking can be horrendous. One couple had mushrooms swapped for a hash brown on request, and their dog was handed a little pot of cut up sausages with the order.

“Wow! Just been here for an early lunch en route to a wedding. Whilst the café looks basic on the outside, the service and friendliness is second to none. There 's a good range of fillings for the wraps and I was delighted that they had GF versions. It was not only delicious, but very good value too. The tea was very good quality and again, well priced. Definitely worth a trip.”

“Found this place purely by accident while walking up Nottingham Road. First thing, the place is spotlessly clean Second, atmosphere is calm and the decor is modern relaxed along with the soft music in the backgroun. Thirdly, the food, the food is delicious and cooked perfectly. I had forgotten a full english can actually taste nice and not just plain carbs and grease. Fourthly, the cost, usually I am forking out £25pp for an average breakfast with no flavour, this place, brought me back down to actual reality and smashed my views out the park. If you haven’t been here for food and a drink, then you are missing out on what I see as possibly one of the top cafes in Derby. Will be back with others next time.”

“I never knew about this lovely little cafe, until my dad happened to mention it the other day. He suggested we try it out and so we did. It was only a short drive away, although the parking can be a little horrendous. We managed to find parking just up from the cafe, which wasn't too bad and was not in-front of peoples' driveways. Heading towards the entrance, the scent of bacon cooking wafted in the air. Inside, there were a number of tables with some menus at the front, clearly showing the prices of what was on offer. We were able to find and sit at a table, rather than having to wait to give our order which was nice, as there were quite a few people already inside at this point. Not long after, a gentleman from the kitchen came over and took our order. We both ended up going for the Full English, with the addition of black pudding to mine, and a freshly squeezed orange juice each. I must say, the orange juice was superb! I don't know of many places around here, that actually squeeze fresh orange juice from oranges, as normally it's from a carton of orange juice, so I loved that it was all natural. We had a little wait for the breakfast but honestly, the fact that it was being cooked fresh, made it worth it. And besides, we were able to admire and take in our surrounds, catch up about daily goings-on etc. I was very impressed when it came, as there was a good amount for the money (I believe slightly under £10 for the breakfast). I found everything cooked to perfection, hot and was a great way to start the day. The bacon was different from what I'm used to, I think someone said it was turkey bacon, but to me it still tasted really good and went great with the breakfast. After a while, once we had finished, we headed up to the counter to pay and the lady, very pleasant, asked if everything was alright with our food which it was. Altogether, I think it came to a little over £26, which I think is superb value for two freshly squeezed, all natural orange juices and two fabulously-cooked breakfasts. I very much look forward to coming back at some point, to enjoy another Full English in the future. 😊”
