Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the coffee, from a smooth black Americano to a lovely cappuccino, with one calling it the best around. Close behind are the cooked breakfasts and light lunches, including a massive bacon and egg cob, fried eggs on toast and a takeaway bacon, Brie and cranberry panini. Tea made in Sheffield and the cakes also get mentions. Many describe friendly, cheerful staff, and one parent recalls a staff member bringing out toys for a toddler while a baby's bottle was prepared. Reviewers also call it child friendly and note that conversation is easy because the cafe is not noisy. The service draws the sharpest complaints. One reviewer received no reply to two greetings or a thank you and was met with a curt "What can I get you?" on a second visit. Another says the owner served others ahead of them in the queue, added items they never ordered to the bill and only corrected it after about five minutes without apologising. One reviewer says parking is tricky and walked from the rec ground. Dogs are welcomed outside, with one diner's dog getting a sausage bowl.

“Friendly, great food and good prices. Had a good time bringing my daughter for breakfast here today, thanks!”

“Very rude old lady! She does not respect to queue and prioritise some people. When i kindly tell her that i was the first one, she act quite disrespectful. Then she tried to charge me extra £10 with adding some staff we have never order & ate. When i told her to fix it, she ignored me and keep preparing coffee for others. At the end, (after 5 mins) she calculated the bill again and reduced the bill. Even she was not sorry and still behaving so rude to me. So, always be careful at that place!”

“Visited the delicatessen at Blenheim Parade after hearing great things. I went in just for a black Americano and fried eggs on toast. The coffee was truly excellent — smooth and well-balanced, which is rare! That said, the service left me feeling a bit cold. I greeted the owner, Deb, twice upon arrival but didn’t receive a response, which set a slightly awkward tone. When I said thank you after receiving my coffee, again no reply or smile. Things did warm slightly when my food arrived, with a small comment — which was appreciated. When I returned for a second coffee, I was simply met with a "What can I get you?" — still no smile or sense of warmth. Maybe it's just their style, but a little friendliness goes a long way. Great coffee, but I left wishing the service matched the reviews I'd read.”

“Cooked with a cigarette lighter, unless you want belly ache. Avoid”

“A friendly local cafe which offers simple things done well. Their delicious coffee, tea, cakes, excellent cooked breakfasts and light lunches are well chosen and cheerfully presented. It's no surprise there are so many regulars. We're very lucky to have them. There us some outside seating, but don't nick our spot!”
