Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the draw at this Derby café, with reviewers pointing to a bacon and egg bap with thick cut bacon, a full English cooked fresh and hot, a breakfast cob and fried eggs with soft yolks. Close behind come the omelette, described as fresh and fluffy, and a cheese and onion toasty with side salad, alongside hot flat whites and a real mug of tea. Staff are the most repeated praise, called friendly, warm and helpful, with one reviewer noting they were accommodating of a gluten intolerant guest and another saying a staff member let them in before opening for a coffee. Several call the prices fair or good value, though one finds breakfast a bit pricey with the hot drink charged separately. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says an order was accepted and then cancelled after about ten minutes, and another says the kitchen can't make a runny egg. A third describes calls to book being cut off twice, and one says food was average on a cold plate and that no proper receipt could be provided for expenses. One reviewer remarks on the clean, tidy room with plenty of space to sit and work peacefully.

“A hidden gem! The omelette was absolutely delicious—fresh, fluffy, and full of flavour. It’s so nice to find a small independent café that puts so much care into its food. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!”

“Sausages are not up to taste and portions small even for a full breakfast but it does what it's ment yo do”

“I was having a bit of a nightmare morning after having to take my car into a garage. The service here was 10/10 and the staff were lovely. They really lifted me mood and I noticed they had lots of different customers who led me to believe they are an important café in their community (first time coming into derby) The cafe was clean, tidy and there was plenty of space to sit and do some work peacefully. I had a bacon and egg bap, two coffees and water. Everything was perfect and I honestly couldn't fault a thing. The bacon was thick cut and the egg was a perfect sunny side up. It's unlikely I will have to come to debt again, but if I do, I'll be heading to this café. Thanks 👌🏽”
