About The Old Crown
The Old Crown is a Coventry pub at 466 Aldermans Green Rd that hosts weekly early-afternoon bingo with cash prizes and a raffle. The kitchen serves fish and chips with homemade chips, and the menu includes a two-course lunch offer. The back garden has a large screen for football and events, plus a play area for children. A private dining room gives groups their own space, and the pub takes advance bookings for larger parties.

Customer Review Summary
Food leads the praise, with fish and chips, chilli con carne and homemade chips named by diners, and the two-course lunch deal repeatedly called great value. Reviewers describe the portions as large, the meals as fresh and piping hot, and the staff as friendly, though one found the chicken tenders only okay. The one clear complaint comes from a busy Sunday dinner, where the roast potatoes looked anemic, a pudding arrived long after it was ordered, and the wrong ice cream came out. Groups feature often. One athletics team of 42 got its food quickly after a timed booking, and a party of eight adults and two children had every meal arrive together after a short wait. Reviewers also mention the manager arranging adequate seating for a pregnant guest, a Monday afternoon bingo with cash prizes and a raffle, and an outdoor area with a children's play space and a big screen for football. One birthday group that supplied its own cake was brought plates, spoons, cream and a sung happy birthday.

“Visited pub yesterday for Sunday dinner, was quite busy, got seated straight away , food was lovely and plenty of choice, however very dissapointed on roast potatoes they looked anemic. We ordered pudding ar 2:30pm , it never arrived till 3pm and also had wrong ice cream . Over all experience not too bad .”

“I have now visited the Old Crown twice in as many months with my girls athletics team. The first time was after another establishment refused to accommodate our group of 17. Sharon couldn't have been more accommodating and went above and beyond for us. So during our next visit to the area we chose The Old Crown again as the place to have our team meal. Again Sharon and Lee went above and beyond to ensure we were all seated together etc. Especially as there was 42 of us! To make things easier we did a reorder of our mains. This helped the kitchen staff prepare in advance. The food arrived very quickly after our timed booking. No waiting around. Yet again the food and service was exemplary! Our team will definitely be back again.”

“I booked in advance for a friend's birthday & we sat outside in a beautifully shaded area. The food was 10/10 for quality, freshness & portion size. Excellent food choices & various menu's. The staff brought a birthday cake outside that I had provided, the sang happy birthday, gave us plates, spoons, serviettes & complimentary cream. It was everything that I could have asked for. Such a beautiful traditional pub. We had a lovely experience & we can't wait to go back.”

“Great experience. Down in the area on businesses. Neive was amazing. She was attentive and her attention to detail and guest comfort really was second to none. The food was fantastic. Despite being a really busy evening, it came out quickly. What a wonderful pub! Will be back again next time I’m in the area. Thank you 😀”
