Customer Review Summary
The carvery draws the most praise, with diners singling out tender beef and gammon and melt in the mouth roast potatoes alongside tasty carrots and greens. Beyond it, reviewers name loaded nachos topped with jalapeños and pulled pork, and shared small plates they call a bargain. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly, welcoming and helpful, including a server and chef who looked after a gluten intolerance, though that same reviewer found a few vegetables a bit soft. The recurring complaint is the carvery running out of meat. One diner who booked a table and travelled 18 miles was told only fatty beef and gammon remained, then heard at the bar that no carvery was available, and said they would not return. Another was phoned on the way over to be told it had sold out, chose other dishes instead and still found them tasty. One family mentions a server who gave their seven year old crayons and a puzzle and brought a high chair for the baby.

“That was a great carvery meal! I don't have many because so many are disappointing but this one I would go back to without hesitation.”

“Had a brilliant meal here recently. The food was absolutely delicious and arrived at our table looking fantastic. Everything was prepared perfectly. I was particularly impressed by the loaded nachos, which were topped with plenty of jalapeños and pulled pork. It is the perfect spot for a relaxed and tasty bite to eat. I will definitely be coming back soon.”

“I visited with my daughter who would happily give this full marks for everything. Our food was hot with excellent portion sizes. Carol who served us and the chef were fantastic at looking after me with my gluten intolerance. A few of my veg were a bit soft but perhaps I am being picky! Awesome service and nothing was too much trouble. Well done. Ww enjoyed it.”

“I can't rate food or atmosphere as we didn't stay or able to get to eat. I had vouchers for the carvery so booked a table so they knew we were coming to eat. We travelled 18 miles to get there and when we walked in a lovely young lady called Rae came up to us and asked if we had booked, then said are you here for a carvery I confirmed we had and she explained there was very little meat left fatty beef and gammon, we said that was ok so she told us to go to the bar get a drink and pay for food, then find a table. I went to find a table whilst my hubby went to the bar, he came back with a drink but was told at the bar no carvery available due to the meat, he also over heard someone saying they had let lots of walk in people that hadn't booked a table come in during the day and thats why there wasn't enough meat left and it's management that instructs the chef's what and how much they can cook. Now having seen a lady walking around giving instructions that looked like a manager did not make any contact with the disappointed people that had booked tables. Whilst sitting there 2 people went to the carvery and got a meal with meat as did a further 2 people after that but just had vegetables. If we knew we couldn't eat then I would not have bought a drink as we then had to go find something else to eat, yes we could have eaten off the main menu but that wasn't what we wanted and booked a table for. As we were leaving we walked past this person we believed to be a manager she never acknowledged us as customer service no thank you or sorry or take care nothing. However the lovely young Rae approached us again asking us had we managed to get a carvery when we told her what happened she could not apologise enough and this young lady has great customer service and needs to be given the praise she deserves as Rae is a great compliment to the business she did not hide away as you could tell we were not happy she made sure she spoke to us as we left even saying hope you come back and try us again. But nope we will not be back not going to travel 18 miles to a booked table for a no meat carvery. Annoyed is mild to say .... 😡”

“We travelled across to The Walsgrave after recommendations from friends. On the drive over, we had a call to say unfortunately they had run out of the cavery (busy day locally for cavery) so we chose alternative dishes instead. The food was so tasty, you could really taste the flavours, and the service and friendliness from Louis and the team was absolutely brilliant, and they went above and beyond. We will be returning and hopefully are able to have a cavery next time”
