About The New Albany Pub
The New Albany Pub is a Scottish bar and freehouse on Albany Rd in Coventry, with an in-house kitchen that cooks for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, including brunch and steak. Brunch drink jugs go down to the bar for top-ups. Games include ping pong, beer pong, table football and a darts board. When the pub turns into a Pub/Bar/Club for its DJ nights, resident DJ AK plays old school and new school anthems, the music leans toward dance, dnb and dancehall, and entry is free all night. Those nights carry an over-21s age policy. Live music and bingo are also part of the programme, and an upstairs area has a smoking area. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, welcoming staff come up in most reviews, from a bartender who asked about a customer's day to a boss described as funny. Reviewers pair that with a steak and a pint, a brunch where one diner had no complaints about the food, and live music. One visitor praises the spacious outside seating that shows the football, and another mentions the lovely upstairs area. Saturday nights lean on dance, dnb and dancehall. One reviewer says hip hop and rnb were played before 10pm, that the music style was not really advertised, and that a couple of song requests went unplayed. A Friday night is described as busy and loud, which another reviewer took as a good atmosphere. At brunch, one party was gutted to have to carry their jugs down for top-up drinks. Another reviewer finished their pint and left after hearing management speak to a bartender in front of customers over a till error. Two reviewers close by pointing to bingo on Tuesday and Thursday.

“I would give this 5 stars because of the great service and smile from the young female bar tender on 9/6. She has a heart for hospitality and commanded friendly conversation; asking ‘how my day was’ makes all the difference, as any genuine bar keep knows. What made me finish my pint and leave immediately was the way in which management spoke to her and visibly crushed her kind heart, after an error on the till. If you ever get the chance to read this, it doesn’t make half the difference your boss thinks it did. Don’t speak to staff like that, especially in front of customers. Other than that, a perfectly fine 10 minute experience. The toilets were spotless.”
