About The Lazy Monkey Bar & Kitchen
On Warwick Row in Coventry, The Lazy Monkey Bar & Kitchen is a gastropub-style bar that puts burgers and cocktails on the same menu as butter chicken, paneer tikka and biryani. The kitchen works through a list of 60 dishes, so a table can mix burgers, wings and fries with curries and naan. Mocktails sit beside the cocktail list for guests who want a drink without alcohol. Mac and cheese comes in a brisket version and a veggie tikka version, and fish and chips is listed among the small plates. Music plays at a level that still allows conversation. A private dining room is available for groups.

Customer Review Summary
Cocktails draw the most mentions, with reviewers praising a Margarita, a Clover Club and a whiskey sour, and one noting they are not diluted. Close behind is a food menu mixing pub and Indian dishes. Diners single out the brisket mac and cheese and the veggie tikka mac and cheese, along with the samosa chaat bomb, butter chicken, lamb shank, paneer tikka and fish and chips, which one reviewer says is listed as a small plate but is enough for a main. One diner loved the Gulab Jamun for dessert. Staff are described as friendly and attentive, and several mention the playlist, with one saying the music sits at a volume that still allows conversation. The complaints are specific. One diner says green peas ruined the chicken biryani, and another reports a wait for food and drinks because only the bartender and the chef were working. A group booked for work Christmas drinks says the team kept in touch and updated them throughout the reservation.

“Amazing place. The service from the owner/manager and the waiting staff was great, really helpful. Food was amazing, can recommend the fish and chips (in the small plates but it's definitely enough for a main), and the veggie tikka mac and cheese.”

“I stopped in two nights in a row on a work trip. The first night I had the samosa chaat bomb, butter chicken, and garlic naan. Second night I had the lamb shank and garlic naan. Definitely recommend the samosa chaat bomb. Can’t go wrong with the butter chicken. Amazing lamb shank. Solid whiskey sour as well. Manny at the bar was super friendly and on top of things. Even the playlist was awesome. Expect a bit of a wait for the food and drinks since it was just Manny and the chef making everything to order, but well worth it!”
