About The Festival
The Festival is a pub on Leaf Ln in Coventry, serving home-baked pies with chunky chips and mushy peas. A rump steak deal lets diners mix and match the steak with gammon. A specials board carries changing dishes, Burmese fried chicken among them, and a lunchtime menu with a lunch offer sits alongside the main list. Warm desserts round out the food, with chocolate fudge cake and custard on offer. The pub also hosts live bands and other entertainment, and it lays on buffets for events. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come back to the home-cooked pub food, with the pies drawing the clearest praise: a chicken, smoked bacon and leek pie and a portobello mushroom, white wine and tarragon pie, served with chunky chips and mushy peas. Close behind are a home-baked shepherd's pie, a Burmese fried chicken special with rice and pickled cabbage, and rump steak with gammon on a midweek steak deal. Warm desserts like chocolate fudge cake with custard and sticky toffee pudding also get a mention. Diners repeatedly describe the food as good value, arriving quickly and piping hot, and several single out friendly staff behind the bar and at the tables. A few mention a good choice of beers, a lunchtime menu, and a buffet and live band at a birthday party. The only caution is cosmetic: one reviewer says not to let the outside put them off. Several describe a quiet pub, and one family returned after a father's day meal where the food came without a long wait.

“We had never been here before , decided to visit at lunchtime as my sister and hubby were passing close by and taking Mum back down south. We were given a lovely welcome by the lady behind the bar. The lunchtime menu was good and the food that we ate was top quality. Great family pub. Thankyou.”

“I really enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie and being home-baked, it was appetising, tasty and good value for money. The Festival is a wonderfully friendly pub and helps preserve the social health of the local community.”

“Haven't been here for a long time, but had a father's day meal here with family and everyone really enjoyed it. Didn't wait long for the food and it was good portions for the price. The ladies that served us were very friendly and polite. It was quiet but we went late afternoon and it was boiling outside so I think we were the mad ones 😆. Will definitely come back, I like the look of the lunch offer”
