Customer Review Summary
Servers are the most frequent draw at this riverside pub, with reviewers repeatedly describing them as friendly and attentive, from one who asked the bar what was in the lime and soda to another who helped a nine-year-old have a good meal. Food comes close behind: a mixed grill described as a large portion and a lasagne, both cooked perfectly, plus a Sunday roast with flavourful cooking and a generous portion. Several stopped in on the way to the Arena or the NEC, and one couple held their wedding dinner in the function room, where staff arranged the tables, music and buffet on time. The recurring complaint comes from a regular who says the pub always seems short staffed. Despite having booked, they waited to be seated with only one person behind the bar, then skipped more drinks and dessert because they were unsure how long it would take, and they asked for more staff. Another visitor, at breakfast, was given pastries to go with their coffee.

“Always good food and good service at The Old Mill in Baginton. Our lovely waitress today was Leigha. She was bright friendly and attentive. We only used the hotel for lunch so cannot comment on hotel facilities, which I’m sure will be excellent.”

“Tani was an excellent waitress. She was very attentive, helpful with our requests for changes in our orders. She was helpful and gave us suggestions. She was helpful and asked the bar staff for what the lime cordial was in the lime and soda which was delicious! She was an incredible waitress xx”

“Visited from out of area. Lois our server was excellent the food was superb, great quality and good value. Used as a pit stop on the way to the NEC and well worth the visit. Onsite car charging was also very handy.”

“We visit here regularly as it is in a convenient location for us to meet up however, each time we are here they always seem short staffed. This visit we waited 10 minutes to be seated as we had booked and only 1 person behind the bar. The food is great and the atmosphere is always nice. The decor and layout is also lovely. Kim served us this time and she was very attentive and efficient. Please get more staff on as you will always have people walk in without booking and it impact the service for those that have booked. Due to the time it took us to be seated we didn’t have more drinks and we didn’t have a dessert as we wasn’t sure how long we would have to wait for it. Overall lovely place it is just the service that lets it down”
