About The Phoenix
The Phoenix is a pub at 122 Gosford St in Coventry, set in a student area, and it runs a two-hour bottomless brunch that starts with bottles of prosecco brought to the table. The brunch drinks cover cocktails, spirits, mixers and pints, and the team provides table service and keeps glasses topped up. On the food side, the menu includes burgers and pizzas, among them a "mighty meat" pizza, along with chicken wings with Franks hot sauce. Vegetarian and vegan options are listed as well. Mojitos feature among the cocktails. Quizzing and retro-gaming give the bar activities beyond eating and drinking, and the big games are shown on TV. A room upstairs can be hired for private functions, with a buffet available and decorating allowed, which suits groups planning their own event.

Customer Review Summary
Bottomless brunch is what reviewers return to most, with several first-timers describing a vast drink selection of cocktails, spirits, pints and mixers, plus mojitos that were good and food that beat expectations. Servers get repeated credit for friendly, attentive service, keeping glasses full on a busy day and serving a friend with an allergy separately. Burgers, pizzas and vegetarian and vegan options are called good, and one diner enjoyed chicken wings with hot sauce, a meat pizza and a Pan-Asian Pale Ale. One group hired the upstairs room for a baby shower and praised the buffet and its veggie choices. Criticism is smaller but specific. One brunch guest found the music too loud for conversation across a table, the monthly special loaded fries cold and light on toppings, and the elderflower spritz so citrus-heavy it tasted like a mojito. A separate one-star review describes a bar worker curtly asking a couple to leave a table marked reserved while an intoxicated customer was left alone. Several brunch groups close by saying they plan to return.

“Me and my gf were visiting Coventry for the first time and decided to drop in for a drink. We paid for our drinks and sat down but later moved to a table with a plug socket to charge phone. It was a two person table in the bar area which had a reserved notice on it with no time stipulated so thought we would move when those people arrive. A man walked in inebriated on either drugs or alcohol or both and sat at the table next to us, he did not purchase any drink or food. He was there for a while and constantly harrassed the two ladies on another table who were trying to have a quiet drink and a catchup, he even asked my girlfriend for a cigarette at one point. Moments later one of the bar staff came over to our table and very rudely asked if we were the reservation for the table, I replied no and then she went on to say well can you move and not sit at tables which are marked reserved. Fair enough we were in the wrong but there is a way to speak to paying customers. Coming back to the inebriated gentleman, he continued to harass paying customers and was there after we had left. My issue is with the bar staff being quick to try and humiliate a paying customer but wouldn't dare give that same energy to someone who is drunk or on drugs because quite frankly they are too scared. The situation left me with a bad taste and I wanted to approach the bar staff afterwards and ask them why isn't this level of rudeness given to a guy who just walks in off the street high on god knows what and harasses paying customers, but my gf said leave it. Anyway here's one star for your cowardly bar staff.”

“went for a bottomless brunch with some friends, our server bethany made our whole night. she was so friendly throughout the whole two hours and made sure to serve my friend with an allergy separately. 100% will come again for normal drinks and food as they were both delicious and there were a good selection of vegetarian/ vegan food.”

“We tried bottomless brunch here for the first time, and it was amazing! There’s a huge selection of cocktails, spirits and mixers, pints etc all included in the brunch, and the food was incredible. The staff are all very friendly, and rapid with the drinks which is the vibe you want for bottomless! Shout out to Nikki - she is top class and came over every 10 mins to check on us. Fab value for money. We will definitely be back!”

“June 2026. We went to the Phoenix for dinner to use a voucher we had been given. We both opted for the Chicken Wings with Franks hot sauce and the mighty meat pizza washed down with a pint of Birra Moretti. The food was great, very tasty, would recommend both dishes. I also had a pint of Pan-Asian Pale Ale which was superb. We were served by Izzy who was very attentive, polite and knowledgeable, well done.”

“My first ever Bottomless Brunch, so I was unsure how it would be. Callum was our server and he made the whole experience totally worth it. The friendly welcome, to the efficient service - Callum gave a 5* performance. The cocktails were created with attention to detail and tasted delicious. The food was a welcome addition, without being too much of a distraction. Definitely would recommend the Bottomless Brunch and will hopefully get to experience it again in the very near future. Thanks to the Phoenix team for doing Cov proud!”

“A welcoming and informal bar in a student area, open from breakfast 'til the early hours. A great place to relax, meet new friends and join in activities such as quizzing and retro-gaming. It is also an ideal place to watch the big games on TV whilst eating and drinking from street food influenced menus”
