About Duttons
Duttons is a restaurant in Chester at 10-12 Godstall Ln, set in a rustic alley where little nooks and a big function room give groups space to gather. The main menu changes with seasonal specials, and a set menu comes in two or three courses. Steak pie with mash and mushy peas is one of the hearty plates. The Sunday roast brings carved meats, sage and onion stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, root vegetables, buttered greens and cauliflower cheese. Unlimited Yorkshire puddings and bottomless gravy come with it. A bottomless brunch with cocktails sits alongside the food, and live music is part of the programme for those who want a drink with a performer in the room. The inside is larger than the alley entrance suggests. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the set menu and fixed-price meals, with a salmon salad starter and beef in gravy on mash with a huge, soft dumpling described as tender and piping hot. A steak pie with mash and mushy peas is also praised, and close behind is the bottomless brunch, which one pair called great value as a full meal with lovely cocktails. Live music and a friendly, attentive staff come up repeatedly, including a big birthday group that found service quick. Several call the food good value, and one reviewer notes the room is bigger than it looks.

“What a great place. Great food and great entertainment. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Will hopefully return here....”

“Really gone downhill. No draught beers any more yet prices increased to almost £6 a pint, full of clubbers on a Saturday night so extremely loud and unpleasant, food is still great, but 10% sneakily added on to bill as well. Really unimpressed, especially with the small print service charge.”

“Five stars! Do not miss this one! My husband and I visited Dutton's restaurant in Chester after walking around the city wall. We happened upon a beautiful little alley and discovered Dutton's, which is an absolute gem of a restaurant! The interior is gorgeous, the food was delicious (best steak pie and mash & mushy peas of the 8 cities we visited), and our server Cal was so attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. It made me wish I lived locally so I could visit every week!!!”

“We visited Duttons on Friday 3rd of July. The four of us had a two course meal and a bottle of wine each for £30. There was a live artist playing and the place was busy with guests. A shout out to Meg and Ryan who were looking after our table that night. The food was really lovely and tasted as good as it looked. To be fair all the staff were lovely and there was a great vibe in the place. Would highly recommend and if we visited Chester again we would definitely go back Thank you Duttons”

“My friend and I came for bottomless brunch, we thought it was great value as it was a full meal which was delicious. The cocktails were lovely, we didn't have to wait, service was excellent and the staff were really friendly. It's a shame you won't be doing this at Christmas as we definitely would have booked for our work do. Not everyone wants a three course meal.”
