About Telford's Warehouse
Telford's Warehouse is a restaurant and bar on Tower Wharf in Chester, with tables beside the canal basin and a large interior across two floors. The building also works as a live music and arts venue. The kitchen cooks pub dishes, including a triple smash burger with bacon, served with chips, and sausages and mash made with homemade sausages. Sunday brings a roast beef dinner. Draught beers are session beers, and craft cans sit in the fridge for anyone who wants something different. Food is ordered at the bar, and you give your table number when you order. Outside food is not allowed.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise generous pub food by the canal, with fish and chips, a triple smash burger with bacon, and sausages and mash made with homemade sausages singled out, and several call the portions huge. Close behind are the friendly, welcoming staff and the atmosphere. Reviewers also name a Sunday roast beef, lemon posset, sticky toffee pudding, chicken charaage as a side, and a pint of Weetwood Cheshire Cat blond ale, and one enjoyed live acoustic music. Smaller notes include chips one reviewer found too salty and a draught list that one visitor found all session beer, with craft cans in the fridge. The complaints concern service. A long-standing regular describes a long wait for sub standard food when the kitchen was short staffed, though staff apologised, and a later visit where a bar worker kept insisting on a table number, so they left without ordering food. Another reviewer says a family was asked to leave over five McDonald's nuggets for their 4 and 6-year-old daughters.

“We came across this pub by chance whilst walking the city walls. Very nice pub within a lovely setting right by the canal. Good selection of beers and wine. Sunday roast beef was very tasty and a good portion. Varied choice of puddings too, the lemon posset and sticky toffee pudding were excellent. There was live acoustic music with Tom Martin. He was excellent, shame we couldn't stay to listen to his whole set. Would recommend.”

“A little difficult to say. Nice looking, friendly staff, draft was all session beer but craft cans in the fridge 👍🏼. I went in alone early doors. I've just moved to Vernon Road, will definitely go back for an evening with company (not Indie music🤘🏼). This is definitely a good place to meet friends and eat. I'll come back and see if we can find the 5th ⭐👍🏼🤝🏻”

“We wanted to enjoy a sunny day by the canal with some beer and sandwiches. Our 4 and 6-year-old daughters insisted on McDonald's nuggets—a small holiday treat we occasionally allow. After sitting outside, I was on my way in to order food and drinks for us adults when a staff member quickly came over to inform us that outside food wasn't allowed. I explained it was just 5 nuggets for the kids and that we were ordering our main meal and drinks from the pub, but she firmly explained their hospitality rules to my young children and asked us to leave. That’s fine—we won't be back, even without our kids. We prefer not to support places with zero flexibility or understanding toward families with young children. If you have little ones, be prepared: their rules apply strictly to 4-year-olds too. Honestly, if I were in their shoes, I wouldn't have made such a big deal out of it.”

“I’ve been a long standing fan of Telfords for the excellent food and drink options. I’ve been twice in the past 2 weeks and I’m sad to say I’ve been disappointed both times. Our first visit was poor due to a large table placing an order, a short staffed kitchen (staff were upfront and apologised) and a very long wait for sub standard food. The second was tonight. 30+ degrees, surprisingly not too busy but this time a female member of staff was less than helpful and was frankly quite flippant. We sat outside, I went to the bar and ordered a couple of beers and asked for some snacks from the menu, I didn’t know the table number but could easily see it from the window at the end of the bar. I apologised for not getting the number but pointed to it. ‘You need your table number to order food’ ‘It’s that one’ I politely gestured, ‘I need the table number’ was repeated. I said not to worry as I didn’t know it and was just asked for the money for the drinks. Maybe I should have known it or walked back out to read it off the table outside the window, maybe the staff member could have said ‘okay, I know what table that is’. The whole exchange was unfriendly. I e didn’t stay for another drink nor did we order any food. New staff? New Manager? New owner? Something seems to have changed, I won’t rush back. Nice place though”

“Great place for food, drinks and vibes. Really lovely spot by the canal. Food is of a very decent standard. Staff are friendly and chill. They deal with moron customers very well. You are not welcome if you are clearly a thicko! (Don’t ruin my local, idiots. Better off without you).”
