  “The food we received was absolutely delicious! The staff were friendly and attentive. The venue is wheelchair accessible in that there are no steps, although the door is manually operated. They have plenty of toilets and they do not require anyone using stairs or a lift. The prices are reasonable, but the quality of the food is amazing.”

  “We had a fantastic experience at Tonkotsu. The ramen was absolutely delicious, although it was very spicy. The waiter was incredibly kind and offered us an extra portion of broth, which made it perfect. The chicken teriyaki was also amazing – full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, attentive, and very efficient throughout our visit. If we're ever back in Cardiff, we'll definitely come back to Tonkotsu. Highly recommended!”

  “The Tonkotsu ramen was amazing! Never had this type before and it was very tasty. The broth is salty and rich with almost a creamy taste. The pork strips were tender and the noodles fresh. I added a bit of chili oil and some kimchi and thoroughly enjoyed. My husband is lactose intolerant so the staff were wonderful about telling him what he could have safely and they double checked every time they brought food. He had the lunch special with mushroom ramen (looked really good and the mushroom bamboo shoot gyoza. The yuzu lemonade was very refreshing and paired well with the salty broth. Will be going again when we are next in Cardiff.”

  “New ramen spot in Cardiff that gets the fundamentals right, a solid addition to the improving food scene here. Food: Broth was properly done, rich and well balanced, authentic toppings which made it felt close to the real thing. The egg had that perfect jammy centre and the overall bowl came together nicely. Service: Friendly attentive staff and everything flowed smoothly without any fuss Atmosphere: Clean, comfortable setting with a relaxed vibe, easy place to settle in Verdict: Slightly on the pricey side given the limited competition, but still a very good ramen fix. I would come back. 5 stars.”

  “First at all, I must say the staff was really friendly from start to end. The food was really good, fresh and tasty, I had the Tokyo ramen that was very good, however, I got a pork slice 90% fat that of course I didn't eat, not what I expected for a £15/16 ramen letting me down with only 2 pork slices remaining on my ramen. Drinks option were good but overly expensive I would say. Dessert options are non existent and too expensive for what you are getting, £7 for a ready freezer ice cream with no site preparation? The worst part of my experience was the non optional service charge. I would usually come back to this kind of places but my bill jump from low £50 to £60 just because... Probably not coming back unless this changes. Even thought the staff was good I must say that is part of their job, this is not America, not London and it goes against Japanese culture.”

  “Tried this out after seeing a few videos on TikTok about it opening. Came in on a Saturday as a solo diner, shortly after it opened, and was sat right away. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food came out very quickly. It was absolutely delicious. The karage was light and crispy, with just enough mayo to cut through the chicken. Kimchi was sour with a light spice, and the cucumber pickles were a sharp contrast to everything. I got the tonkotsu ramen and it was so good. The broth was rich, the noodles had just enough bite, the pork had a light roasted taste, and the egg was jammy. They also offered smaller plates for solo diners to reduce any food waste. An excellent initiative. Will definitely eat here again.”

  “Divine. 100%. Top place to eat in Cardiff town. Tonkotsu ramen - light creamy and packed huge flavour, super tasty and hot with perfect aldente noodles and juicy tender pork 😋 Geki kara - spicy rich pork broth with plenty of deep full flavour topped with tender pork belly. Tonkotsu sake - delivered to the table in a beautifully warmed flask to enhance the flavour. The food, the staff the atmosphere was 10/10 absolutely A1”

  “Wonderful food, definitely recommend, comes out hot and fresh. Reason for 3 stars- not alot of side options to enjoy with meal, and automatic service charge that isnt made transparent anywhere. It would be nice to choose how much.”

  “New opening in Cardiff city centre. Set lunch is great value — ramen + side for £10.50 (+£2 drink). £12.50 all in. Went vegan with the miso mushroom ramen — rich, savoury, and seriously satisfying. Sides of shiitake & bamboo gyoza, kimchi, and cucumber pickles all delivered. Drinks were a highlight too — fiery ginger & sansho soda and yuzu lemonade, both served in tall glasses 🙌 Small mix-up with my vegetarian noodles but it’s opening day… no complaints. A great addition to the Cardiff food scene. Will be back.”

  “Me and my sister came here during the lunch period, we got the lunch deal which was amazing value and 10/10 quality! Everything tasted so delicious and authentic, really took us back to our trip to Japan! The service was incredible, all staff members were friendly and their customer service was again 10/10! Will definitely be coming back here again :)”
