Customer Review Summary

The Malvani Chicken Curry is the dish reviewers return to most, described as tasty with just the right amount of spice and packed with flavour, and another reviewer simply calls the chicken curry on point. Close behind are the breakfast plates, including the chorizo hash with scrambled egg and the butchers breakfast with a pancake stack. Reviewers also name the flat iron steak, a fish burger, croquettes and a Pornstar Martini, and desserts earn praise too. Many like the lovely interior, the upper floor setting and the friendly staff. The criticisms are about pace and value. One diner found the food took far too long to arrive even though the restaurant was not quiet. Another thought portions were small, citing a cauliflower dish with only a few tiny florets, and a third found the steak tough and overpriced. Drinks were called expensive, with orange juice singled out. A salad arrived dry without its sauce, though staff fixed it, and one diner met a sullen server. One birthday breakfast ended with a complimentary prosecco.

“Lovely Oasis of dining in the city center. Strong and diverse menu served by amiable service. Restaurant is on the upper level. Chicken curry was on point.”

“This is a great place to meet people, but if you know me, you know I don’t like being underwhelmed with food portions. 😅 And this place was pretty underwhelming. Taste was great. Portions were too small - especially for the cauliflower which had only a few tiny florets. I’ve given an extra star (instead of a 3) because they have a vegan menu. Also the bar lady was delightful.”

“Cosy Club Cardiff St David’s has a really lovely atmosphere. The decor is beautiful and gives the restaurant a distinctive, cosy feel, while the staff were pleasant and welcoming throughout. It was lively and busy when I visited, with a great atmosphere, good background music and plenty of sport on the screens, which made it a particularly enjoyable place to sit and spend some time. The main disappointment was the wait for the food. It took almost 50 minutes to arrive, which I didn’t feel was acceptable, particularly given that the restaurant wasn’t simply quiet or just opening. That said, once the food arrived, it was excellent. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted great. I had the fish burger, which was particularly good and easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, there’s a lot to like about Cosy Club, especially the setting, atmosphere and quality of the food. If the kitchen could bring the waiting time down, it would be a much stronger experience.”

“Opted for Cosy Club so I could try somewhere new for breakfast. Id looked at the menu beforehand so knew I was going to order the chorizo hash and was not disappointed! It was such a tasty meal I was sad when it ended. I requested to have scrambled egg rather than fried and it was really lovely. I really liked the interior of the restaurant and it was a nice place to have breakfast. My only criticism was that one of the staff members had a bit of a sullen expression and interacted with me in almost complete silence. I felt a bit awkward when I came in and felt like I'd almost put her out requesting a table for one”

“We got the butchers breakfast and 3 pancake stack. Food was lovely and would recommend. Only criticism is the drinks were very expensive, with orange juice being £6. We stuck to tap water.”
