Customer Review Summary
Katsu comes up most, from a katsu curry served with a side of edamame to the chicken katsu burger, a chicken katsu one child loved, and a vegan katsu burger whose recipe one diner wants. Close behind are the beef rendang, called a favourite, and the green curry, while Singapore laksa ramen, chicken gyozas, squid and pad thai also get called delicious. Desserts earn their own praise, especially the miso chocolate fondant with its warm, gooey caramel centre and the mango pudding. Reviewers describe friendly, attentive servers, food that arrives quickly, and a lovely setting with plants and warm lighting. They also mention generous portions and curries that already come with rice. The one dish complaint is a Thai massaman curry judged average at best, though that same diner enjoyed the chicken dumplings and a strawberry mocktail. One birthday party had the mango rice pudding brought out free on the house.

“Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere but best of all great staff. Natalia was excellent, really looked after me and helped with my bill. She took time to speak to me and made me feel so welcome. I will definitely be back.”

“What a lovely place. Friendly staff, great service. Everything was halal on the menu. Seating was lovely and not cramped at all. Food arrived in no time. Tried the Singapore Laksa Ramen and the Banana Tree Curry, no notes 10/10. Helpful that the curries already come with rice and you don’t need to purchase it separately. Recommend 100%. Would be a go-to spot for me if I lived around here.”

“We came here recently for a birthday celebration and were thoroughly impressed. The waiting staff were so friendly and welcoming, accomodating our earlier booking since we had children in our group. The atmosphere was lovely, the warm lighting and decorated greenery made for a pleasant and comfortable experience. Our party also had allergies which the staff were very attentive to throughout the meal, checking and recommending plates for us. The children's free meal was not only impressive, but surely enviable for other restaurants in the area. The portions were hearty, filling, and thoroughly enjoyed by the kids in our group. The main meal offerings for adults were also delicious and we were all very satisfied! The Thai Green curry was well presented, flavourful, and the customisation of which rice you had was a nice addition to the meal. Dessert rewards stepping out of your comfort zone with the fondant caramel-mizu, but also had less adventurous, but still very tasty, options such as the mango rice pudding, which was free on the house since we were celebrating a birthday. I can't recommend this place enough. We'll definitely be back!”

“Me and my boyfriend decided to have dinner at the Banana Tree for a little date night, we both love Asian food and thought we would give it a try as opposed to Wagamama’s or Yo Sushi. I really have to highlight the exceptional service, we instantly felt welcome and comfortable walking into the restaurant. Our server, Ryan, really helped us both feel relaxed as he reassured us about any questions and queries we had. The food is absolutely delicious and it was delivered rather quickly! I ordered the Katsu Curry as it is one of my favourite meals and it was absolutely perfect. It was beautifully presented and the portion sizes are generous for the price. My meal even came with a side of edamame (which you’d have to pay extra for if you went to an establishment like Wagamama’s!) it was such a filling meal but we definitely had to try some dessert! My absolute favourite was the Miso Chocolate Fondant which came with a side of vanilla ice cream and featured a warm, gooey caramel centre. We will definitely be returning for another date night here- everything was absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening! 🍌🌴”

“I always enjoy visiting Banana Tree. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere of the restaurant makes the whole experience even better. It’s a beautiful place with a great vibe, perfect for a relaxed meal. The famous beef rendang is my absolute favourite. The squid was also delicious and definitely worth trying. My son loved the chicken katsu. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu.”
