About The Traders Tavern
The Traders Tavern is an old-fashioned pub at 6-8 David St in Cardiff, with an oval main bar. It sits near the Utilita Arena and Principality Stadium, and people use it for pre-drinks before events and rugby. On Utilita Arena concert days the pub opens early and plays music matched to the event. The kitchen runs a Smash'd food offering that includes nacho loaded fries and the Naughty Pig Burger, and it also serves breakfast and filled rolls. Dogs are welcome inside. Plenty of bar staff work on busy match days.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers mostly come for pints before rugby at the Principality Stadium or a show at the Utilita Arena, and the pub fills with Welsh and French supporters on match days. Staff draw the most praise, described as friendly, quick and pleasant even when the bar is non stop busy, and several call the beer reasonably priced and well looked after. Close behind is the atmosphere. One reviewer notes the music reflects what is on at the arena, and another heard British pop hits and French classics on a rugby day. One also likes the interesting oval design of the main bar. Food gets a smaller share of attention: filled rolls during the rugby, a breakfast eaten with a dog, and one reviewer urging the nacho loaded fries and the Naughty Pig Burger, plus a mention of a new menu. Another calls it an old fashioned pub serving an honest pint. One group's great day out even included Elvis in the building.

“Was in before and after the rugby last week, Wales v Scotland. Place was bursting at the seams. Plenty bar staff and they were always on top of things. Served quickly, always pleasant despite getting absolutely non stop hammered AND there were filled rolls available and they were so good. Discovered this place two years ago when I was down for the rugby with friends and had a great night then. Came back on the strength of that visit and wasn't let down. Great pub with great staff. Just a pity I don't live nearer. See you in a couple of years 💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼”
