About Glassworks
Glassworks is a pub on Wharton St in Cardiff that runs a monthly pub quiz to raise money for MacMillan. The pub lunch menu includes fish and chips and a cheese and bacon beef burger. Drinks are ordered to the table, which saves trips to the bar. Screens show live sport, including football and MotoGP, so matches and races are easy to follow while eating. The pub sits close to the Utilita Arena and gets busy before gigs and concerts. Glassworks is part of Greene King, and an offer is available through the GK app.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the pub quiz, calling it a genuinely good one with great questions and a great mic, and one recommends the Icebreaker pale ale alongside the abbot ale. Close behind is the pub lunch around concerts: fish and chips, the Sunday roast and a cheese and bacon beef burger get praise for generous portions and food arriving sooner than the quoted wait. Sports on screen, cocktails and ordering drinks to the table also draw comments. Service is described as friendly and quick even when packed, and one reviewer mentions a table moved so an elderly mother could avoid the stairs. The main complaints concern value and noise. One diner found the crispy halloumi bites over-priced and the Guinness Zero expensive, and another called the food average and generic for a tourist-oriented spot. One reviewer was put off by a noisy family nearby and people leaning on the table, with football making the room loud, and another had drilling and hammering during lunch. One reviewer closes on a member of staff offering an umbrella as rain poured down.

“Well this is a nice little touch. It was chucking it down with rain as I was leaving. While I was putting on my waterproof jacket, a member of staff asked if I would like an umbrella. I was ok thanks, my waterproof was sufficient. Now that's what I call exceptional service.”

“Love the pub quiz here. Nia has great questions, great vibes and a great mic. It's also in an amazing location in the heart of Cardiff, making it very easy to get to and a perfect place to catch-up with mates. Id strongly recommend the Icebreaker pale ale but the abbot ale is also very good. I feel very at home here. If it were my home I wouldn't complain. 10/10”

“Lovely atmosphere and 10/10 pub quiz! Lots of great drink options (including non-alcoholic options, greatly appreciated) and a decent pub grub menu. The pub quiz is every last Thursday of the month and raises money for MacMillan, we go to several quizzes in the city and this is a genuinely good one!”

“Had lunch at this pub yesterday before hubby went to the Metallica concert. We picked it mainly because Greene King is always a safe bet, not expecting anything out of the ordinary, even less when we saw how packed it was. We managed to snatch up 2 seats right at the window at a large table, and hubby went up to the bar to get drinks. Despite the crowds, he was back within a couple of minutes with 2 wonderful beers. We ordered food, the Sunday roast and the cheese and bacon beef burger, again not expecting anything special. Waiting times said 45 mins, food came quite a bit earlier and was absolutely delicious! The burger was evidently made fresh to order, crunchy salad and fresh onions, the fries were perfect topped with sea salt flakes. Service was so lovely despite the huge workload. Will definitely return on our next visit to Cardiff!”

“This is a really nice pub and great that they show so many sports. The atmosphere was nice and its was quite busy, we were still able to get a table for 2 quite easily. We didn’t have any food but the cocktails are nice and it’s great that you can order drinks to the table to avoid multiple trips to the bar.”
