Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers name most, with diners describing big pieces of cod that arrived hot and quickly, though one found the batter soft, the chips basic and the mushy peas solid and lumpy. An ultimate chicken burger, a chicken and bacon salad and a lasagne described as good value also get praise, and a pint of Rev James and a good selection of gins are mentioned. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the garden and Friday night crowd are described as buzzing, with dogs welcome. The main complaint is cost. Several rely on a 40% off voucher or discount code, one says the food was not worth full price, and another left over a seven pound pint of lager and a voucher refused the day before Mother's Day. Others report no steaks and no fish or seafood on offer, an hour wait for food during the rugby, and a gloomy interior away from the front benches. One diner who returned on Mother's Day was seated immediately, and the food, though slow, was hot and fresh.

“Visited with my family for my 42nd birthday meal. Pleased that is dog friendly as didn’t want to leave anyone out. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely food, parents went for trusty fish and chips with a pint of Rev james for dad, ultimate chicken burger was gorgeous. Will visit again! 10/10”

“Pub is looking tired externally and could do with refurbishment but the staff were excellent - helpful and welcoming. Prices are a bit like DFS, you wouldn't pay full price as it's expensive but there's a regular discount code available and we had 40% off mains.”

“Pub was initially welcoming, however when I first walked in I felt intimidated due to the volume of me staring at me. Drinks came fast however when I ordered I wanted fish and sea food however I was told that there wasn’t any so slightly disappointing. Over good football was on I do recommended.”
