“Good beer choice - i had the Barry Island IPA and my wife had the Dark Fruits. We sat in the beer garden and listened to the sound checks at Blackweir fields. Barman was very friendly and yet also efficient.”

“I popped in here with my wife as we had 45 minutes until we had to collect our daughter who was in a nearby theatre. It was full of rowdy youngster's watching football, not my cup of tea but I guess they have to go somewhere. I enjoyed a pint of lager and my wife had a white wine, it came to over £14 so not exactly cheap. In fact it worked out extremely expensive as a week later I received a parking fine of £60 for parking in their car park. I am 60 years old, been driving for over 40 years and this was my first ever parking fine! I returned back yesterday to see how I had overlooked that you had to pay to park and yes there are signs throughout the car park. But, I guess I must have overlooked them as I have never known a pub charge it's customers before and as the signs are mounted quite high I guess I just wasn't looking out for them. Shame on the proprietor for not adding adequate signage in the pub itself and on the girl behind the bar who could have warned us as she obviously knew we were not regulars. No wonder pubs are closing down more and more if this is the way they treat customers, needless to say I won't be visiting there again and will now be hesitant to use any pub when I have to park up first.”

“I love this pub. I find myself returning often. A real friendly atmosphere in the air, filled with locals and students. The food is always the right type of food you want at a pub. There are a few pool tables, darts and a lovely beer garden. Not to mention the great deals on bottled drinks! Which works perfectly for me!”
