  “Highly recommend! Even on a busy Saturday evening, the service at The Heathcock was absolutely excellent and prompt. It’s a bustling pub, but it has lots of separate rooms for dining which makes it feel cozy. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. They are famous for their sharing pies, and the chicken and bacon pie we had was a very hearty, incredible meal. Will definitely be back!”

  “Truly an incredible dining experience! The menu was beautifully crafted we had such a hard time deciding what to order, and the staff were so patient and helpful in helping us decide. They were all super friendly and very knowledgeable! The food was out of this world, cooked to perfection with flavours that were absolutely beautiful together. The portions were very substatial, and all at a very very good price !!! Would highly highly recommend :)”

  “Bit out of the way unfortunately, but more than worth venturing out of the city centre for! Food was incredible, creative and perfectly executed - chef Ollie knows how to put it down and honestly this is one of the best Sunday Roast spots in Cardiff. Service was excellent, Georgia was friendly and incredibly attentive and the beer selection - all the big hitters and some fun local craft options was exactly what you want. Food took a while to come out but trust me, worth the wait and then some. Had the porchetta roast as a main - outstanding, and the apple and fennel sorbet for dessert which I still think about daily. Can't recommend enough honestly, let them cook!”

  “WOW - what an incredible experience! We had the 9-course tasting menu and every single dish was a journey of its own - diverse, beautifully presented and full of bold, exceptional flavours. The staff's knowledge of wine pairing was outstanding, making each course even more memorable. The restaurant itself is minimalist yet wonderfully cosy - exactly the kind of atmosphere that lets the food speak for itself. If you want to experience traditional Welsh cuisine at its absolute finest, this is the place. The combination of flavours is truly extraordinary. Highly, highly recommend!”

  “We had pre booked the tasting menu which was great. Everyone enjoyed it, but the standout for me was their response and action on allergens. As gluten intolerant, I am used to a limited menu availability and for celiacs who can not risk any cross contamination it must be even harder. The Heathcock had an alternative Celiac taster menu with clear and very nice alternatives when the 'regular' item was not GF. Such a treat. Add to that I had forgotten that another in our group couldn't eat mussels and told the Heathcock only when we arrived. Without a blink they catered for this. Add friendly and helpful staff, resulting in a great evening all round. Thank you.”

  “We recently had the good fortune to visit The Heathcock, following my nephews wedding. We were catered for in the private dining area, which was the perfect setting for the event. The food was excellent, high quality, and presented beautifully. A big thank you to all the staff involved. We had a wonderful time.”

  “We enjoyed our lunch but here was room for improvement. The range of food was good but they had run out of the lamb fairly early in the lunch sevice. The plates we chose were nice but lacked a bit of the wow factor. The service was overall good and they dealt with dietary requirements very efficiently. However once we finished our meal and paid, it felt as though the service was no longer required. No goodbye/the service just stopped. It's a shame as it started very well. Ladies toilets need a makeover I would say.”

  “I hired out the function room at The Heathcock for our wedding breakfast, and I honestly couldn’t fault the team one bit. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was perfect. We arrived earlier than expected, and the staff were so accommodating — they kindly brought out our starters ahead of time and let us take over the bar area. The function room, located in a separate building, was ideal for our group of 22. There was always someone on hand to take drink orders and make sure everyone was happy. We chose the sharing platters, and the food was absolutely incredible — everyone loved it! The whole experience ran so smoothly, and it really made our day extra special. A huge thank you to Georgia, the manager, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Couldn’t recommend The Heathcock more highly. Thank you for making our day so memorable! :D”
