About Cafe 24
An independent cafe in the centre of Cambridge, Cafe 24 looks small from the pavement on Regent St, but a second seating area upstairs opens up more room than the compact ground floor suggests. The menu runs across breakfast, lunch, sandwiches and cakes, with the full English breakfast and the pancake breakfast among the regular orders. Coffee is a mainstay, from lattes to cappuccinos, and the drinks list extends to milkshakes, fresh juice and iced coffee. Vegetarian and gluten free options sit within the same menu. A step-free entrance makes the ground floor reachable for visitors with mobility needs, and dogs are welcome inside. Tables outside suit anyone who would rather eat in the open air. The kitchen serves through the daytime every day of the week, and booking ahead is recommended.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast anchors most visits, with the pancake plate drawing the warmest notice, described as fluffy, with the right amount of syrup and crispy bacon and hash browns alongside, and one reviewer calls it a must try. The full English comes up nearly as often, praised as filling and reasonably priced. Coffee runs close behind, including a cappuccino singled out for the best foam one visitor had tried and repeated mentions of the latte, while others name a hot matcha, an Oreo milkshake, a pesto panini and beans on toast. Several describe the room as cosy, with quirky decor, music at a comfortable volume and welcome extra seating upstairs, though one notes the seating is tight. The main complaint is service upstairs, where one party found staff clustered behind the bar, no one checking in, and had to walk down each time they needed something. One dessert order, an orange and chocolate cake, is remembered as sweet but not overwhelming and not at all dry.

“Most of the staff were behind the bar, and no one was on the floor to look after the guests. Nobody came to check if everything was okay during our meal. We were seated upstairs, so whenever we needed something, we had to come downstairs to ask. That said, the food was good, the portions were decent, and the prices were reasonable. We had fresh juice, an Oreo milkshake, an iced coffee, a full English breakfast, and beans on toast. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the service definitely needs improvement.”

“A small cafe but they have a huge menu with tons of varieties. The Team is super helpful and their service is super quick. Loved the hot match, and the pancake breakfast is a must try.loveky”

“Great staff, good coffee, good food and, by local standards, great pricing. Range £5 to mostly £13 and I think there was one option at £15. A very cheap and wholesome breakfast can be had for under £10 and a wide range of gluten free options available.”

“The food was so good, the perfect amount of syrup, the pancakes were fluffy and the bacon and hash brown were so crispy and delicious. The staff were friendly and the music is a vibe without being too loud. The seating space is a little bit tight but not a problem”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
