About Pages Coffee House
Pages Coffee House is a cafe in Cambridge, at 40 Trumpington St, across the street from the Fitzwilliam Museum. The coffee is made from Monmouth beans, and the drinks range from a flat white to a matcha latte. Pastries and cake sit alongside, including a salted caramel brownie. Seating inside is limited, and a small hatch on the side handles quick orders. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along. Laptops are allowed in the morning hours, and a no-laptop policy applies for the rest of the day, which keeps the daytime tables free for conversation. The cafe runs on a walk-in basis.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the main draw, with reviewers praising a velvety, caramelly flat white, an excellent cappuccino, and a cortado with notes of molasses and fermented fruit. One calls it possibly the most delicious, carefully prepared coffee in central Cambridge. Close behind is the matcha latte, which one visitor recommends outright and another took away, along with a hot chocolate made with oat milk. Baked goods get mixed reactions. A salted caramel brownie, a savory feta muffin, a tall cinnamon bun and fresh, flavourful cake earn praise, while two reviewers call the pastries and cakes only average or acceptable. Seating inside is limited, and one reviewer mentions a no laptop policy during certain parts of the day, though another found the morning laptop friendly hours perfect. The outdoor terrace gets praise, and several stop in before or after the Fitzwilliam Museum. One reviewer was bothered by staff loudly talking and laughing near the counter, while others describe friendly staff and a little hatch on the side for quick orders.

“A lovely little cafe just down the street from the Fitzwilliam Museum. We stopped in for pastry and drinks before visiting the museum and sat outside because the weather was lovely. Can absolutely recommend their matcha latte!”

“Cosy cafe serving what is possibly the most delicious, carefully prepared coffee in the centre of Cambridge. The music is great and just the right volume. Ambience and decor add to the charm. Unfortunately, seating is limited, though there is a spacious terrace that can be delightful in fine weather. The baked goods are only average - same selection as in some of the neighbouring Cambridge cafes. Definitely a must for coffee lovers, but perhaps try elsewhere if you are also looking for a bite to eat.”

“I would describe it as a quiet, cozy, and pleasant spot for coffee and spending time with friends or alone. The place has been promoted and advertised on several websites and by word of mouth, but I would not consider it a unique or special place to have coffee or enjoy your time. I spent almost an hour waiting for my colleague after visiting the museum and observed several things. Although I was just a passing tourist, I noticed that Page's Coffee House has many loyal customers who drink their coffee there every morning, or even several times a day. Unfortunately, the available seating is quite limited inside, and there is a "no laptop policy" during certain parts of the day that you need to be aware of. The quality of the coffee and desserts is acceptable, but some reviews and sources have promoted them as superior, which does not match reality. One last thing: the staff were loudly talking and laughing, which disturbed me during my visit since I was seated right in front of the counter. I understand that it is a private and small business, but some professionalism should still be maintained to provide high-quality service.”
Highlights
“Pages Coffee House is a charming independent spot where coffee lovers can enjoy top-notch brews, made from Monmouth coffee beans by skilled baristas. It's a place for tourists exploring the area, a daily go-to for residents needing their coffee fix, and a cool, comfy spot for students looking for a place to study or catch up with friends. And yes, we are a dog-friendly cafe, so feel free to bring them along! With a relaxed vibe and a dedication to great coffee, Pages Coffee House is more than just a cafe—it's a welcoming community hub where every cup brings everyone together.”
