About The Church House Inn
The Church House Inn is a newly refurbished pub on Church St in Caerphilly. Black rock grills bring hot stone cooking to the table, giving the menu a hands-on format. The large menu includes a section for smaller appetites, and lunch adds a sandwich and baguette menu alongside a smaller plates menu. Cheesy garlic bread comes as a side, and Biscoff cheesecake is on the dessert menu. Tables can be reserved by phone.

What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention sunday roast dinner, black rock grills, cheesy garlic bread and biscoff cheesecake.
Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the home-cooked food and generous portions, with the Sunday roast singled out for thick, meaty gravy, good roast potatoes and mash swapped in for boiled. Black rock grills are one regular's favourite, and others name cheesy garlic bread, a very large fish, an omelette and a biscoff cheesecake. Weekly lunch visitors favour the sandwiches, baguettes and smaller plates, calling the value excellent. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly, efficient and attentive, including a warm welcome for a family of eight and no rush when two guests arrived late. The beer is called first class and a decent pint, and the beer garden gets a mention for its view. The one real complaint is a steak ordered medium that arrived well done and tasting of charcoal. The reviewer says no one checked on the table, and the staff member who heard about it replied that a fresh one would have been offered had they asked.

“Very lovely and great. I said a prayer for forgiveness, because I didn't have any money on me. I got bunged out.”

“Always phenomenal. Lovely thick, meaty gravy. Good roast potatoes. Always happy to swap the boiled potatoes for mash, and the meat is thick and generous. Best Sunday roast dinner in Caerphilly, hands down.”

“went to have some food with a friend and the food was terrible , asked for a medium steak had a well done steak. Only flavour the steak had was charcoal. Mentioned it to the lady working and she said “you should have said we would have given you a fresh one” no one come to check if the food was okay.”

“We come to this beautiful venue a few times year, we have never been failed in any aspect of our meals, the bar staff are so helpful and the service is always swift. We enjoyed another meal tonight where we both had the black rock grills. Because that's our favourite. However we have also had multiple family birthdays also. I can't recommend this place enough and for what you get the price isn't to expensive! Cheesy garlic bread is an absolute must as a side and the fish is also the size of a bat! Lovely people, lovely place.”
