  “This pub is in the "Lovely Pubs" group and it really is a lovely pub. We sat in the marquee which was just wonderful, so pretty with wicker chairs, cushions and blankets for colder weather. We went on a warm evening and the sides were half down and it felt very pleasant. The surroundings were lovely too, being right next to a canal. The food and drinks were excellent and the service was very quick.”

  “Very good we went "on-spec" for lunch and had a nice indoor table in the bar area which was reasonably quiet. It was very busy outside. The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. We ordered the 2 for 1 deal on pizzas and the meal came very quickly and it was delicious. Far too much so they gave us a pizza box to take one away. The beer was good as was the cheesecake sweet.”

  “We ate here before going to the Artrix venue. It's one of the nicest new places we've been to for ages. The setting is great, alongside the fenced off canal. We ate in the large, light marquee, but there's also seating inside (which has a great atmosphere) or outside. There were a lot of people there, but service was really good (the staff were lovely) and the food was fresh and and came promptly enough. The waitress was friendly and very helpful with the gluten-free options available to us. Overall, we highly recommend this place.”

  “Beautiful pub in a lovely setting right beside the canal. The outdoor garden is really well looked after and had a great atmosphere, with plenty of canal walkers stopping for a drink. The staff were very attentive and the stone-baked pizzas were excellent. We ordered the sweet potato gochujang wedges, which were tasty, although the portion felt a little small for the price. Also worth mentioning the QR code didn’t seem to work for food ordering? But they had staff walking around you can order with so didn’t have to lose the table. Parking can get a bit tight around lunchtime, which is understandable given how busy the pub gets. The main car park is across a small bridge and up a staircase, while there is a smaller car park closer to the entrance for those who may struggle with the steps. Some people had started parking on the verges, so it is worth arriving early at busy times. A really enjoyable visit overall and we will definitely be back.”

  “Very hard to find fault this place! The decor is great, the garden is beautiful & there's is a cool vibe about the place, brilliant service, Cannot fault it! We went for an early evening dinner as the wife didn't fancy cooking, we had heard about the 2-4-1 pizza deal in the week, so as there were 4 of us as my daughter is away on a school trip we took advantage, and we wasn't disappointed! We didn't book a table as we were planning on sitting in the garden, but the pub is big enough, so you can eat in the car area, but if you wanted the restaurant experience I would suggest booking. We had... 4 Pizza 1 Skin on Fries 1 Wedges 3 Carling 1 Orange Soda The pizza deal is Monday - Thursday until 6.30pm We spent just over £60 in total for a family of 4 including the drinks which to me is very reasonable, and the food was delicious! The pizza was plentiful, the base was soft & floppy, the crust was thick, perfect for dipping in sauce! We have visited previously so we know it's good, we will definitely be returning regularly.”

  “Large spacious well maintained canal side pub.. Large garden area with plenty of seating.. Vey comfortable furniture inside.. Thank you Freya, and the rest of the team there is Excellent service plenty of table service staff walking around table service in the bar area aswell so no need to go to the bar ... Plenty of bar staff on, there was a large function in the garden so wether this was the reason.. Fantastic service Great range of gins and good selection of beers, aswell as plenty of cold lager type beers, I suspect very welcome in this weather, but I had the traditional bitter... Very good .... We had the handmade pizza very nice and the base was great reminded me of traditional Italian pizza, " " Just like mamma used to make"". Haha Afternoons the pizza is 2 for 1 Monday to Friday. The rest of the menu was very appetising also Overall an excellent dining experience highly recommended and would use again next time we pass through on our canalboat..”

  “We have visited twice now. Once for a meal and second for a walk down the canal and a rest in the garden with the dog. Incredibly dog friendly. 2 car parks. Reasonably priced drinks and food. Staff very friendly. Lovely seating inside whether you are in the bar area (dog friendly bit) or the main dining area. New garden is gorgeous for a sunny afternoon walk down the canal.”

  “We had the best afternoon at the tepee at the Queens Head for a hen party and just want to say a huge thank you to Liv for looking after us all so well. Nothing was too much trouble, she was friendly, attentive and made sure everyone had a great time from start to finish. Her service really helped make the day extra special and relaxed for us all.   “Went with a large table for a company lunch. The restaurant is in a lovely spot, and I imagine is particularly nice during the summer. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service very friendly, because we were such a big table and it was rather busy, even though they had plenty of staff, the service was a little slow at times but it was all worth the wait as the food was really delicious with very good portion sizes! Would definitely come again!”

  “A full 5 stars for a top tier restaurant with their effortlessly decorated dining area’s, neatly placed bar & coffee machine with an outstanding fireplace centred in the main dining area. Its always a pleasure attending this restaurant for a meal and or drinks with my loved ones🤩😇 The food is so rich, fresh and tasty tempting you to order and eat everything off the menu😩. It’s definitely a restaurant that i always have on my mind to go back to so i can create more memories here😁”
