The Park Gate Inn is a country pub at 178 Kidderminster Rd in Bromsgrove, with a function room that has its own bar and a small soft play area for toddlers and babies, with seating for parents. The room hosts private events such as birthday parties, christening parties, wedding parties and baby showers. For larger gatherings, a marquee with a bouncy castle inside is available, and a lower field is used for events, including overnight camping. In the main bar, real ale and beer are served, and a pool table is there for games. The pub does not serve food, and guests are welcome to bring a picnic. A fireworks display is held for Bonfire night.

Customer Review Summary
The function room for parties is what most reviewers come for, with birthdays, a christening party, a wedding party and a first birthday all described as successful. Guests mention a small soft play area for toddlers with seating for parents, decorations they could put up themselves, a well stocked bar and friendly, helpful staff. One group held a festival themed 50th birthday on the lower field and camped overnight, and another reviewer calls the room value for money. The one detailed complaint comes from a baby shower booking. The room had not been cleaned from the night before, with glasses still out, so the family tidied it themselves before guests arrived. After repeated calls and emails, the deposit had still not come back, and the owner cited holiday and admin delays. A bonfire night visitor enjoyed the fireworks and reasonable prices but was disappointed there was no bonfire. Regulars praise the real ale, a good pool table and a big garden with a marquee holding a bouncy castle.

“I booked a the room in 14th September for my baby shower. There was poor communication from the owner from the start when trying to confirm the booking which should have been the first red flag for me. We were told that we would have the room from 12 onwards on the day so that is when I arranged for the catering and decorations to arrive and told guests to arrive at 1. When we got there the room hasn't been cleaned from the night before, tables were dirty and glasses were still out across the room. Me and my parents then had a mad rush to clean the room ourselves before guests arrived. The lady who had booked her birthday the night before turned up to take her balloons down and told me that the room was dirty too when she came to set up her decorations. After the babby shower ended we left the room spotless, all rubbish in bins, glasses put on the bar and had arranged for the balloon arch to be taken away. Despite this I still have not received my deposit back. I have tried to contact the owner on multiple occasions via phone and email regarding the deposit and told that she had been on holiday and behind on admin and promised the deposit would be transferred back to me. I still have not received ny deposit back. I am due to give birth shortly and do not have the energy to chase this any further and felt writing this review of my experience was my last resort. Avoid at all costs if you want a stress free celebration.”

“We attended my grandsons 1st birthday party there . The room was a great venue to hold such an event , there was a small soft play area for toddlers and babies with plenty of seating for parents . We brought a play tunnel and tent to add to the equipment and we decorated the venue with balloons and added themed touches around the room . The bar was well stocked and the service was friendly . We provided our own buffet style food for the guests and they brought their own drinks , so we can't comment on the pubs own food. The pub is not far from surrounding towns and a nice drive out . A great venue to hold a private event or to just pop in for a drink or two .”

“We are open weekdays from 5pm and midday at weekends. Our opening hours keep getting changed by someone but we are open every day. Traditional country pub, large beer garden with lovely countryside views. Function room available for parties. Order in from one of the local takeaways or bring a picnic, we don’t serve food here.”
