About Hanbury Turn
Hanbury Turn is a Black Country Ales pub at 44 Hanbury Rd in Bromsgrove, with rooms upstairs for guests who want to stay overnight. The bar pours a range of real ales, including Black Country brewery ales and others, alongside ciders, gins and wine. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the range of real ales, with Sunburst IPA named as a very good pint, alongside ciders and gins, and several praise the knowledgeable, friendly staff. Fresh cobs are close behind, with ham and cheese baps, homemade corned beef pie, scotch eggs and quiche of the day also mentioned, and one reviewer enjoyed a free table of cheese, crackers, meats and pickles. Also mentioned are a dart board, plenty of games for groups, old photos of Bromsgrove on the walls, a spacious outside area and a small garden, and a welcome for dogs. Two guests who stayed overnight describe a very clean, comfortable room and a warm welcome. The one complaint is that scratchings felt a little expensive, and another reviewer notes the pub does not do hot food, only cobs at lunchtime. One reviewer visiting on Mother's Day found it busy and was given a free cake.

“Absolutely wonderful traditional pub. Great selection of real ales and gins. Delicious fresh cobs and bar snacks. Fab to see it so well supported by the regulars. The air con was also very welcome on a particularly hot day. Our first visit, certainly won’t be the last.”

“Had a great over night stay here. The room was spotlessly clean, really cosy and had everything we needed. Received a friendly welcome and the beer in the bar was great. Thank you!”

“My new favourite Black Country Ales Pub. Lots of great photos of Bromsgrove back in the day across the walls. Difference with this BCA pub was the amount of games they had that you could play with your group - such a great touch. It doesn’t have the typical BCA wallpaper print, but I think this felt more tasteful. Great selection of drinks, darts board and a spacious outside area. Lots of bar snacks, cobs, scotch eggs etc - quiche of the day as well. Dogs are welcome - and there were some great ones when we were in!”
