Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the Sunday carvery for its high quality and wide choice, with many calling it fabulous and returning for it. Close behind, the Beef Bourguignon pie with mash and mixed veg earns praise, as do desserts like Trillionaire tart and sticky chocolate orange cake with pouring cream. Several also highlight the efficient, polite service, noting staff kept drinks flowing and cleared plates promptly for large groups. A recurring complaint centers on the mixed grill: hard fried eggs, small tough steaks overcooked despite medium requests, poor-quality sausages, and dried-up mushrooms, with some calling it poor value. One reviewer also reports a negative initial greeting from a waitress. A diner describes losing a sentimental ring and having it found and returned by staff within hours.

“We ate off the main menu, 2 mixed grills with fries, salad and garlic bread £21.50 each . Fried eggs were hard , sausages poor quality, both steaks were very small and tough ..both very well done when we asked for one to be medium, chicken tasted like a frozen cheap small fillet , mushrooms dried up ...gammon ok , salad OK, fries OK. Overall we felt it was poor value sadly ..and we won't order off the main menu here if we go again . Quality didnt seem as good as it was. Waitress was very pleasant however ....”

“Fantastic pub serving delicious food, and a great level of service. I misplaced a ring whilst dining here which had sentimental value attached to it, I called to say I had potentially misplaced the ring at the pub and within a matter of hours they called me to say it had been found. A huge thank you to everyone involved in retrieving the ring. Could not recommend this place enough.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
