About The Brassmill
The Brassmill is a pub in the city of Bristol on Avon Mill Lane, set by the Avon Valley. The pub stands on the site of one of Britain's earliest brass mills, established in Keynsham around 1706, and the pub's name recalls that earlier industrial use of the site. The kitchen serves seasonal pub classics, with dishes that follow the time of year, and the bar pours cask ales alongside the food menu.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, helpful staff are the most frequent draw, with reviewers describing servers who were cheerful and professional, and who looked after a 70th birthday party and a meal with elderly parents. Food praise centers on the Camembert fritters, the chicken liver and fig pate and the smoked haddock fishcakes, and one reviewer singles out an excellent beer cellar. Close behind is inconsistency in the cooking. One diner found the Sunday beef roast tough, and relayed that the rib eye steaks at the same family lunch were tough and full of fat. Another received a small, overcooked piece of chicken with eight green beans, while a friend's gammon was chewy. Others say the menu is too big, with food that seemed to come from a merrychef or deep fat fryer, and a few feel prices run slightly high. On a late Saturday, several set menu options had sold out, and one visitor noted the staff seemed short handed. One diner called the salmon a trifle overcooked but not enough to complain about.

“Nice pub. In need of a major dust/clean.. Ledges and shelves very dusty. Tatty paintwork. Food disappointing I had chicken with a sauce, very small piece of chicken and overcooked. 8 green beans and small amount of chips. .My friend had gammon, very chewy. Food portion too small and generally not well ooked. Very nice waitress, although stretched was pleasant and helpful.”

“I took my elderly parents for a meal today at the Brass Mill, the service was great, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, my parents really enjoyed themselves. Lovely atmosphere too. Abbie D was our waitress and she was very cheerful and professional. All the staff were lovely. We will return again soon.”

“We have been dinning at the Brassmill twice yearly for years. On Sunday 12.15pm, 13 Jul we had lunch for eight of us. I ordered the Sunday beef roast and 5 ordered the rib eye steak. The beef roast was 3/4mm thick and was as tough as old boots. I didn’t complain as I didn’t want to spoil a family gathering. However, I asked my son on Friday 17 Jul and today Sunday 19Jul my wife about the rib eye steaks, apparently they were tough and full of fat. We paid over £320 for his meal and an addition £50 on pre drinks at the bar. Do not order meat at this restaurant the quality is appalling !”

“It was a very quiet night customer wise so had a choice of tables. Lovely decor and very clean. We had superb service from Katie who checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. It made for a lovely evening with great food. Would recommend.”

“We have lived in Keynsham all our lives and somehow never visited here. Was surprised with lovely menu choice. Food was good quality and cooked well and good value. Only issue was a lot of the menu options from the set menu were sold out, understandable give we dinned late on a hot Saturday and big chains don’t have the biggest flexibility with ordering etc. We were looked after by Christie who was an absolute gem, has been working for this chain for 40+years! She was the highlight of our evening. We look forward to returning”
