About Rose & Crown
Rose & Crown is a pub on Two Mile Hill Rd in Bristol, open daily, with themed specials nights that include a Thai night built around Khao Soi. That gives regulars a changing reason to try something different from the usual pub menu. Korean Fried Chicken sits on the menu alongside the pub food. Sunday brings a roast with beef and pork options and a trio roast, with pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese available as sides. On Thursdays the bar runs 2 for 1 cocktails, and local beers are part of the drinks range. Dogs are welcome inside.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is the main draw, with reviewers praising the roast beef for tasty, not chewy meat, thick gravy and generous portions with plenty of vegetables. Two diners added pigs in blankets, and one ordered the trio roast. Service is repeatedly described as welcoming and friendly, with staff who did not rush diners, and a manager earns warm mentions. Close behind are the Thai night, where the Khao Soi stood out beside punchy chicken satay and prawn cakes, and the Korean Fried Chicken, called outstanding. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found service really slow when the restaurant did not seem busy, another said the roast took a while to come out, and a third found the cauliflower cheese had no sauce to speak of and had eaten better Yorkshires elsewhere. One reviewer suggests booking for Sunday roast. Several enjoyed the garden, where friendly bar staff brought out Thursday 2 for 1 cocktails.

“Highly recommend the 2 for 1 cocktails (until 9pm) on a Thurs. Spent a few Thursdays during the Summer in the garden with the friendly Bar staff bringing them out to us. Lush decor, modern, clean and tidy. Food fab too. Well done the Rosee 👍🍾🍹”

“Had a lovely Sunday lunch here today. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. The roast beef was delicious and the sides good. I’ve had better Yorkshires however and the cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower with cheese grated on, no sauce to speak of. However, pleasant and reasonable value. Would recommend.”

“Perfect. When I get the chance to go out, the atmosphere has such a big influence on my enjoyment. The value of the drinks is also has a huge impact. But the one thing that makes all the most difference to me is the service. Im not talking about how quickly I get served, how well the staff know the menu or how 'professional' the staff look. What stands out to me is how welcoming and friendly people are. The 2 ladies that were working this evening were both so nice. They were happy and smiling and up for a quick chat between customers. At one point, we were debating the best local chip shop. I can't help but compare this to pubs where the staff have made me feel like I'm interrupting their evening by wanting a pint..! When I get another opportunity, I'll be going back for a pint and hopefully I'll be able to try some of their food.”

“Went for the Thai night and the kitchen really delivered. The Khao Soi was the standout—rich, authentic, and had a perfect level of spice. We also had the chicken satay and prawn cakes, both of which were punchy and fresh. Even with the pub being packed, the service was spot on. Definitely worth a visit when they're doing these specials!”
