The Himalayan sharer is a jumbo platter meant for sharing, and the curries include a Himalayan fish curry and Lamb Rogan Josh. A separate pub classics menu can be mixed and matched with the rest of the food. Screens show live sports, including football on Saturdays. The pub operates on a walk-in basis. Customer Review Summary

Curries from the Himalayan menu draw the most praise at Fishponds Tap, with reviewers naming the Himalayan fish curry, lamb rogan josh and butter naans, and one diner calling the tandoori chicken outstanding for its sauces and marinade. Close behind, the jumbo platter and other sharer dishes are described as tasty, plentiful and good value, and one reviewer notes the pub classics menu can be mixed in. Staff are repeatedly called helpful and friendly, and the function room hosted a first birthday for about 60 guests and a 30th with a buffet, both described as smooth and well organised. The main caveat is Saturday sport and crowds. One group found its allocated area loud with the sports screen, another found the pub crowded and noisy, and one reviewer says the drinks are on the pricey side. A reviewer who came for the football calls it a decent pub for watching the match. The large enclosed garden is a recurring plus, and one group moved out to it when the screen got loud.

“Great sharer dish from the Himalayan menu. Lots of food and very tasty. Huge garden with good non-intrusive music. A little dated but a very pleasant find.”

“We booked for a group of 20 ish. Very helpful staff & accommodating as we wanted to change our seating- because of our large group and it being Saturday sports the allocated area was loud with the sports screen & mens loos were past our seating area ( only downfall but not worthy of lowering my rating as management were so helpful!) so we de-camped to the large beer garden (enclosed child-safe), we had late arrivals, complicated payment of the bill, a young child, a dog and several vegetarians, all were happy with the service recieved. Food came in good time and was great- good portions and reasonably priced”
