  “Incredible service! My niece accidentally left her most prized possession, her very loved teddy, after a meal with her family. The staff were so kind and helpful in getting them reunited! It was a tricky couple days without the teddy, but he was very well respected and had a great time with the team! Thank you so much!”

  “First visit, would definitely return. Food was lovely, staff were fabulous. We visited during the heatwave, it was clear the staff were flagging due to the heat, however, they were attentive and efficient. Alfie was our server, he was great. Also a bearded guy behind the bar who greeted us at the bar, he made us feel very welcome. I knocked 1 star off atmosphere, only because a man at the next table had the loudest voice ever!!”

  “We had a lovely evening. Alfie, our waiter was fantastic- attentive, personable and helpful leaving us appropriate and welcome space. Well done Alfie - that’s not easy to achieve. Food at four stars due to a duck dish being slightly over and my husbands trifle was a little dry - cream over whipped and custard too set. All the other dishes were great.”

  “4 friends for a midweek meet up and lunch. Arrived early so ordered coffee on the lovely outside paved area. Plenty of shade and comfortable seating. All assembled and into the well appointed dining area and shown to our table by the delightful Jess, who was a dynamo in the bar and restaurant areas serving, seating and greeting the ever growing numbers. We had a variety of dishes from both the set lunch menu and the daily choice, mushrooms, prawns, soup and pate for starters and then lasagne, puy lentil cottage pie and two lots of fish cakes. They were all served hot looked appealing and tasted excellent. The ever available Jess kept us supplied with drinks and was available to take sweet, coffee and tea orders, all with a smashing smile. The meal and natter and catch took us well longer than expected but we never felt hurried. All in all an excellent time and food was had by all. Thanks.”

  “Impromptu lunch on Saturday. Staff seated and served us very quickly. We had the chorizo to start and steak sandwiches. The food was really good. But the service, in particular from Ellis, was excellent. They also have a nice selection of beers. I would highly recommend.”

  “Popped in without a booking and was more than accommodated. All the staff were great — especially Liam, who was attentive and welcoming throughout. It was also really lovely that they made such a fuss of Alfie, which was a nice touch. The food was great and exactly what I was after. I’ll definitely be going back.”

  “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to Liam. From the moment we arrived, he was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. His professionalism combined with a friendly, down to earth manner truly made our day amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, and he made us feel valued as guests rather than just another table. Customer service like Liam’s is what makes people want to come back. He’s a real credit to the restaurant, and we can’t thank him enough for making our visit so special. Badila family 🤗”

  “Visited here for Mother’s Day lunch, had a 3 course menu to choose from, first impression of the restaurant were elegant, classy, country pub settings with an extra sprinkle. Had 3 course meal for around £30 mark. Starter - Devon crab cake, expecting alot with this dish and I was very surprised, nice depth of flavour plenty of crab meat filling, and perfect lemon mayo to cut through with acidity to balance the dish. I also had Scallop, King Prawn & Crab Coquille - but no mash topping was being served with this dish, scallops were nice, small bite sized pieces but with plenty of flavour. Both starters were solid and how starters should be! Mains - had beef roast with side of mac and cheese. Very good sized portion with plenty of beef, and trimmings, beef was succulent, soft with depths of flavour, greens were buttery, seasoned well, carrots were soft yet had a slight bite to them but with lots of flavour. My only issue with this dish was roast potatoes and the gravy, potatoes lacked any roasting imo, think they were shown where the oven is but not put in, more of a boiled potato sadly, not fluffy or crispy and lacked any flavour at all. And the gravy, sadly a bitter gravy it accompanied the dish and did not spoil the plate, but certainly missed any real flavour, no depth to the gravy or shine, a knob of butter and some seasoning would of helped, but sadly this let the dish down. Dessert - lemon tart, now this was a palette cleanser, very sharp, super lemon and soft nice dessert to end a nice meal. Overall I would say the dinner and service was solid and certainly did not disappoint for Mother’s Day. Whole family enjoyed it and we all pretty much cleared the plates. For the price point of around £30 for 3 course I would recommend it! Overall I would rate this visit 8/10 and would visit again.”
