About Rose of Denmark
Rose of Denmark is a pub on Dowry Place in Bristol, reopened after a refurbishment that added a wood burner and sofas. A quiz night runs alongside the fire, which is lit on cooler days, and card players use the sofas. Behind the bar, the cask ales include Timothy Taylor Landlord and Butty Bach, with a local Bristol gin, wines and spirits also poured. The team is new since the reopening. Screens show live sport, including rugby.

Customer Review Summary
The Wednesday quiz night is what most reviewers return for, with several calling it one of the best in Bristol and describing a mix of laughs and friendly competition. Close behind is the welcome from the bartender and his team, repeatedly described as friendly and always smiling. The drinks draw steady praise too: cask ales including Bass, Butty Bach and Timothy Taylor Landlord, kept well, plus a good range of wines, spirits and a local Bristol gin. Since the refurb, reviewers mention a warm, homely feel, a fire lit even on early autumn days, and sofas where one group played cards. Screens showing live sport and rugby also bring people in. One longtime visitor says it has changed from the knowledge-game pub it was in 2007, though still calls it a nice place and the staff very friendly. Another found it pretty quiet on a quick visit, which others describe as relaxed. Reviewers also mention fair prices, and one says a pint of Landlord was the highlight of a quiet visit.

“I used to visit here many years ago. Blankety Quiz was legendary. Glad to see it’s still a nice place for a pint or two.”

“Pretty quiet when I visited for a quick pint. The Timothy Taylor's Landlord was top notch though. Some screens to watch the sport. Not long had a refurb so the place looked pretty good.”

“The staff are super friendly and make you feel really welcome. Tony is amazing,he’s always there with a smile and really knows how to run the place. The quiz night on Wednesdays is so much fun, definitely one of the best I’ve been to in Bristol. They’ve got a good choice of drinks too. I usually go for wine. If you’re looking for a fun, relaxed place to hang out, I totally recommend it!”

“Visited the Rose of Denmark this weekend and will definitely be going back. It looks amazing since the refurb and they have a good selection of Ales, Bass, Butty Bach and Timothy Taylor Landlord. I couldn’t decide which I wanted so it meant I had to have all three! Perfectly kept Ales 10/10. The Barman (Tony) was ensuring everyone’s needs were met and always had a smile on his face. A true delight in creating a welcoming atmosphere. A credit to the pub! If you are looking for a nice pub for a pint then look no further!”
