About Westbury Park Pub and Kitchen

Westbury Park Pub and Kitchen is a pub in Bristol on Northumbria Dr, set in a round building whose circular bar once appeared in the TV series The Young Ones. The open-plan interior is modern, with bright lighting and big tables that suit groups. The kitchen serves fish and chips, and the Sunday roast comes with all the trimmings and a gluten free option. Old Rosie is on tap alongside a selection of other beers, and big-screen sports are shown for match days. The pub takes walk-ins. A quiz runs on Monday nights.

Customer Review Summary

Sunday roast draws the most enthusiasm, with one reviewer calling it maybe the best they have had in Bristol, citing good portions with all the trimmings and a gluten free option. Close behind are the chicken burger, pizza and fish and chips with chunky chips, while another diner praised a pork cheek starter, though they found the haddock slightly underfried. Old Rosie on tap gets a mention, and reviewers describe drink prices as reasonable. Friendly staff come up in nearly every review, including on a busy New Year's Eve. The caveats are mixed. One diner found their reserved table not ready or cleaned and waited a long time for mains while later arrivals were served first, with no check-ins from staff. Another reviewer, who otherwise praised the food and atmosphere, marked the pub down because of dogs eating alongside other diners. One says the bright, open-plan space feels more like a café or community hall than a cosy pub, while others find it quiet, clean and well spaced. Several mention the outdoor seating and an entertaining, smoothly run Monday night quiz.

“Westbury Tavern is always a lovely place to visit. Friendly staff, a great atmosphere, and a welcoming feel. I really enjoyed my wine today, sitting outside in the sunshine and simply soaking up the moment. 🍷☀️”

“The food was very good, but unfortunately the service let the experience down. Our reserved table wasn’t ready or cleaned when we arrived, and we experienced a long wait (over 40 minutes) for our main course while guests who arrived after us were served first. We also received no updates or check-ins from the staff throughout our meal. It’s a shame, as the quality of the food was very good, but the overall service means I wouldn’t choose to return.”

“We've been here twice now, once just for drinks and once for dinner and the Monday night quiz. The staff are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. We never had to wait very long at the bar for a drink and our food order came promptly. The Monday night quiz was entertaining and smoothly run. There is plenty of outdoor seating but inside is comfortable and cosy too. Drink prices are also very reasonable.”

“Westbury Park Pub & Kitchen is very convenient if you live nearby and the staff have always been friendly. There’s a decent beer selection and it works fine if you just want a quick drink close to home. For me, though, it’s not somewhere I tend to choose to go. The space is very open-plan with big tables and quite bright lighting, which gives it more of a café or community-hall feel than a cosy pub. It’s a distinctive circular building and quite modern inside, but it doesn’t feel particularly intimate or atmospheric, especially in the evenings. The outdoor cabins and seating in summer are a nice addition, though the space overall still feels a bit exposed compared with some of the other pubs nearby. There are a few alternatives within walking distance that feel more relaxed and comfortable for a longer stay. Overall it’s a perfectly serviceable local with friendly staff and good drinks, but the atmosphere and layout mean I don’t tend to choose it as a destination pub.”
