Quick info
About Purezza Brighton
Purezza Brighton is a vegan restaurant on St James's St in Brighton, and the UK's first vegan Italian restaurant. Everything on the menu is vegan, cheese included. Pizzas are built on a sourdough crust and topped with vegan "cheese" and "pepperoni", and a gluten-free coeliac flatbread base is available for diners who need it. Guests can try complimentary vegan cheese, and a mini fridge lets them buy their own. Nutella doughballs cover dessert, and lavender lemonade is on the drinks list. The furnishings are refurbished rather than new. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Vegan pizza is the clear draw, with reviewers praising the sourdough crust and the dairy-free cheese, one saying it tastes like normal cheese and another noting visible chunks of vegan blue cheese on the four cheese and Norcina. The Lasagne pizza and the Parmigiana party pizza get specific mentions, and the pepperoni is called excellent. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly, welcoming and kind, with one team handing out complimentary vegan cheese to try. Also mentioned are the lavender lemonade, Nutella doughballs, a basil dip, and a coeliac flatbread base that one reviewer found nice and airy. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the radicchio salad very dry and undressed, the Caesar only marginally better, and the pizza priced near twenty pounds, higher than central London Italian places. A couple of others wish the space and the lemonade were bigger. Several say they will return, and one picked out the tiramisu as the next order.

“I consider our visit to the restaurant a great success! We had a delicious Lasagne pizza, which we tried for the first time together with my partner, and it was absolutely amazing! 😍 The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place — we will definitely be coming back! 🍕❤️”

“The best pizza you’ll find outside of Italy! Everything is vegan, fresh and high-quality. The dough and bake on the pizza is to die for, and the flavours are fantastic. They have ruined pizzas for me because none of them come close to this.”

“One of the most delicious vegan pizzas I've ever haz, we had four cheese and Norcina, ams you could see the chunks of vegan blue cheese. Would come again in the blink of an eye! The crust was amazing and the basil dip super refreshing!”

“We were very disappointed with our meal at this restaurant which was a big surprise given the positive reviews on the internet. The serving staff was friendly and it is hard to hold against them, perhaps the kitchen staff just had a bad day. The salad preparations were extremely poor with the raddiccio salad super dry and without any salad dressing. The ceasar salad was marginally better but still not great. The veggie pizza was decent. Also, we found the menu overpriced with almost £20 for a regular sized pizza being even higher than most central London Italian restaurants.”

“What a fantastic vegan pizzeria! There was an amazing selection of pizzas, with plenty options to choose from. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and gave us some complimentary vegan cheese to try, which was a lively touch. The pizza was delicious, authentic and made with high quality ingredients. I felt like being transported to a little Italian spot.”
