Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the miso aubergine, naming it a favourite across several accounts, with the grilled prawns, spiced calamari fritti and sprouting broccoli close behind. Others praise the BBQ pork collar, burrata with peach, cabbage with muhamara, citrus cured bass and lamb chops, and one mentions the whipped mascarpone dessert. The sharing-plate format and the experience menu come up repeatedly, as do cocktails such as the Burnt Orange Martini, Pineapple Picante and a no-alcohol cherry amaretti sour. Several enjoyed sitting at the counter to watch the kitchen, and many describe the service as friendly and welcoming. Complaints are small but specific. One reviewer found the pork collar too thick and chewy, another called the smoked lamb cigars and the spinach and leek pastilla just fine, and one felt service was slow when busy and wanted more staff. One reviewer said the manager did not match the friendliness of the team. Reviewers also note a long wait to get a table, and one says there is no kids menu, though staff happily made something simple for a daughter. One diner mentioned a complimentary sweet treat after noting a birthday on the booking.

“I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Honestly, the best experience we’ve had for years. Creative dishes, Just full of flavour. Loved the tasting plate idea. Didn’t want the Experience to end! The aubergine and the prawns were simply epic! Loved the burrata with the peach was incredible. They don’t have a kids menu, But were very happy to accommodate something simple for our daughter. It has a very chilled Vibe with very friendly service. Cocktails were delicious! I cannot wait to go back.”

“Came for my partners birthday and this has been on my list for ages! We chose the counter seating so we could see the food being cooked and have a different experience to just sitting at a normal table at a restaurant. Safe to say, it did not disappoint. The vibes of the place, the smell, the food - incredible! We were greeted and seen to our table by the gorgeous Zara, who made our experience absolutely incredible. She is a real credit to the burnt orange team. So friendly, warm and knowledgable! We had the grilled marinaded prawns to start (absolutely mind blowing and I would pay for the recipe!!! You HAVE to get these) and spiced calamari fritti calamari to start. Pork collar, bbq chicken thigh, roasted cod and sprouting broccoli. I mentioned on the booking it was my partners birthday that day and got a little complimentary sweet treat for desert 🥲 We will 100% be back and cannot recommend enough!! The manager didn’t seem to fit the feel and friendliness of the place I must say!”

Every dish was special but our favourites were the citrus cured Bass and the Lamb chops (some of the best Lamb I have had) Definitely a venue we would return to if in Brighton again.”
