Customer Review Summary
Beef rendang draws the most praise, described as tender and full of flavour, and one reviewer who misses Indonesian food says the tempeh rendang tastes like Indonesia. Close behind are the vegetable gyoza, called the best one diner has had, and the Pad Thai, packed with flavour and generously portioned. Katsu curry, chicken karaage, teriyaki chicken and fruity, refreshing cocktails also earn mentions. Complaints are scattered but specific. The salt and pepper squid was slightly overcooked, a prawn dish came in a paste rather than a sauce, and one diner found the ramen broth salty and short on ramen flavour, calling the Japanese dishes fusion style. Another said the room was very hot. One reviewer reports seeing a dog on a cushioned chair, with its leftover water poured into a wine glass, and raised hygiene and pet allergy concerns. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and reviewers describe them bringing out a cake and singing Happy Birthday for a customer and helping celebrate a graduation.

“Food / Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price / Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Went for an evening meal and it’s easy to see why this restaurant is always busy. Great city-centre location with a lively atmosphere. Staff were excellent - attentive, welcoming and friendly throughout. They were even helping celebrate a customer’s birthday by bringing out a cake and singing Happy Birthday which was a really nice touch. We had the Beef Rendang (£18.90) and Katsu Curry (£18). Both were really tasty and full of flavour. The beef rendang was tender and the katsu curry was just as enjoyable. We ordered edamame beans (£4.50) and salt & pepper squid (£8.50) to try too. The squid was slightly overcooked but everything else was really good. Prices are on the pricey side but understandable for a city-centre restaurant. Overall, a really enjoyable evening with great food and service. Would recommend: ✅ Will be back: ✅”

“Central London location, walking distance, food is 👌. Don’t expect authentic Japanese food as it is fusion style. I had ramen 🍜 but it really didn’t give me ramen flavor. The broth was a bit on the salty side but the noodle was good 😊. The restaurant was a bit too hot 🥵. It was like sitting next to a fire 🔥”

“Came here last night and had a lovely meal. Restaurant was nice and cool in the heat as they had big doors / windows at the front of the restaurant they could open up. Waitress and bar man were lovely & friendly. We got sushi & gyozas to start to share between the 4 of us all delicious. For mains we got chicken Massaman curry, beef Rendang, Pad Thai & Nasi Goreng. We all cleared our plates. All so flavoursome and the meat was so tender. We all had a cocktail each too. Very fruity and refreshing. Fab meal for our last night in Brighton.,”
