Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast draws the most praise, with one diner calling the pork very tender with a taste of cider apple and another describing the beef as perfectly cooked. Close behind are a Thai dish called absolutely delicious and Caribbean food described as nicely flavoured and fresh. Reviewers also single out friendly bar staff, good music, and a well stocked bar with a good range of beers, decent cocktails and wine. Complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found the half price chicken wings dry and smothered in sweet paprika, and left most of them. Another gave one star after a bartender rolled her eyes, brought the wrong drinks and declined a further round. One visitor found the kitchen closed for an hour but returned once it reopened, and a few found it too hot inside. Several mention the outdoor area behind the main room, where reviewers sat with a pint of cider or a local Brighton beer at covered benches and tables.

“We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet. Had a great pint of Joosey by Unbarred, a local brewery in Brighton. Sat in their courtyard at the back.”

“I had the misfortune of experiencing the service of a bartender named Libby - she was so unbelievably rude and unwelcoming and made me feel like it was a chore for her to give me a drink. She visibly rolled her eyes and sighed when we ordered and proceeded to bring us the wrong drinks to which we said that’s fine we will just have those. Afterwards, before she had even finished bringing the rest of the drinks, we asked for another drink and she stated “I am not your personal bartender”. I have worked in hospitality for 10+ years and have never seen a colleague or server act in such a way. It was a great shame as everyone else was lovely and the pub was great in itself, sadly our experience was ruined by Libby and we shan’t be returning.”

“We had a drink here. There is a large selection including some decent cocktails and premium spirits. There is a good selection of beers and also some wines. We didn't try the food. There is a covered seating area out the back with benches and tables.”

“Nice pub although far too hot inside Ordered the 50% off chicken wings and the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. Smothered in sweet paprika. Awful dry . Tasted like eating dry spices out the jar. Ordered 6 , starving but didn’t finish as disgusting.”
