About Vine Street Tap + Bottle
Vine Street Tap + Bottle is a bar and bottle shop in Brighton, set in a converted garage on a residential street in the North Laine at 13-16 Vine St. The space is small and simply decorated, and it serves as a tap room as well as a shop. Rotating draught beer taps run alongside bottles and cans kept in a fridge. Wine is poured by the glass or sold by the bottle, and natural wine is on offer. The cocktail menu includes a Negroni, and canned cocktails, cider and soft drinks are also available. Food is limited to a snack menu built around tinned fish and sourdough. The bar is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer, with six rotating draught taps and a well stocked fridge of bottles and cans, alongside wine by the glass or bottle, cider and canned cocktails. Close behind are the cocktails, with one reviewer calling the Negroni perfect and another describing them as some of the most reasonably priced in town. The atmosphere is described as relaxed, chill and lovely, in a converted garage on a residential street, with friendly, welcoming staff and a barmaid praised for delicious drinks and good music. One visitor calls it a cute, modern natural wine bar with nice wines. The main complaint is from one reviewer who was told the bar was closed on a Sunday before its published closing time, and who advises not trusting the listed hours. Another says the toilets are off limits for a number two, which distressed their wife, who has IBS. Most describe snacks of olives, canned sardines, and tinned fish or cured meats with sourdough alongside their drinks.

“Wonderful selection of wines and beers. Great atmosphere. Only downside is you’re not allowed to poo in their toilets which caused my wife untold amounts of distress as she suffers severely from IBS.”

“Arrived at 7:10pm on an Sunday, apparently open until 8pm. Told they were closed. Given the current climate, absolutely not the way to run a business. Money spent elsewhere. Don't trust the published opening times, don't bother walking here, it might be a wasted effort.”

“A truly memorable find in Brighton. We discovered Vine Tap & Wine Bar on a recommendation from Finn at Peggs & Son (where my husband promptly fell in love with half the store), and it turned out to be an absolute gem — one of those places you feel lucky to stumble upon when travelling. The atmosphere is effortlessly cool, intimate and relaxed, exactly what you hope for in a great wine bar. What made the experience even more special was the beautiful young lady hosting that Sunday — I’m so sorry I forgot her name (a few glasses of excellent wine may have contributed to that), but she was exceptional. Not only strikingly lovely, but genuinely warm, attentive and perfectly attuned to the tone of the space. Despite running the bar on her own, she took the time to chat with us, making us feel completely welcome and at ease. It never felt rushed — just easy, natural and thoughtfully looked after. Visiting from Australia, not knowing where to go, this was exactly the kind of experience we hoped for — authentic, personal and beautifully done. We had such a great time and would return in a heartbeat. A standout spot. Thank you. Paul & Frédérique X”

“A brilliant little bar that has been a highlight of the North Laine social scene ever since it opened a few years ago. It's evolved and grown increasingly popular, but the things that made it special to begin with remain in tact: excellent drinks; interesting snack selection; relaxed, cosy vibe; and friendly, welcoming staff. The cocktails are great, and some of the most reasonably-priced in town! I bring every friend who visits Brighton to Vine St and they are never disappointed.”
