Customer Review Summary
The pie, mash and pint meal deal is what most reviewers come for. The chicken and mushroom and steak and ale pies are called delicious, and venison sausages with mash and a pint of Guinness also get praise. Several describe the deal as great value, and one ate the pie before they could photograph it. Live music comes close behind. A Tuesday jazz night draws people who came specifically for it, and one visitor staying next door followed the sound in after hearing the band. Others mention the quiz and a folk music night, along with friendly staff and a pretty little beer garden. The complaints are specific. One reviewer calls the cocktails watered down and finished in seconds, and left almost straight away, feeling the price was poor. Another found a large empty gap between the pie crust and the filling, and notes that competition for the sunny garden table was intense, though they won one and enjoyed it.

“Why is it’s £11 or £15 for two cocktails when the cocktails are watered down crap that is finished in 10 seconds - we were in and out in less than 7 minutes - poor”

“Great place in the laines. To stop off for a pint I went for the pie and pint deal. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes great service lovely staff the pie itself had too much a of a void between piercing the pie and reaching the filling (Brian cox could of studied it) but I can’t complain what was in the pie was nice and for the price what do I expect. The beer garden was nice but competition for the sunny table was intense I luckily got the sunny table which made me feel like a god as people walked happily out with there pint only to be sent back into the darkness of which they’d come great pub would recommend.”

“Great place with a proper atmosphere. We came specifically for the live jazz on Tuesdays. I highly recommend it because the music creates a wonderful mood. We only had drinks. Cocktails are £11 for one or £15 for two. The interior is classic and cosy. It is a perfect spot to spend an evening with quality music. The garden is also quite good. I will definitely be back”

“If you fancy a good Guinness and a proper pie, this is the place to go. The place is stunning and the deal for a pie and pint is class. I was going to take a picture of the pie, however I ate it before i could pick up my phone!”

“Had the most delicious steak pie at The Green Dragon for lunch and for such a bargain! 10.50£ for pie, mash & gravy +2£ if you fancy a pint. I’ll definitely be back :)”
