About White Willow
White Willow is a pub on Market Way in Bridgwater that serves restaurant-style food in a pub setting. Its chicken is Red Tractor farm-assured, seasoned on site and flame roasted, and it comes alongside yuca fries. Starters work as curate-your-own platters, so a table can build its own selection to share. The rest of the menu covers British classics and puddings, and the team brings orders to the table. The bar pours cask ales, wines, spirits, soft drinks and draught products. The kitchen has also served a roast on Christmas day.
Good to know
“Situated in the lovely village of North Petherton, at the foothills of the Quantocks, The White Willow is an excellent choice for a family meal, a business lunch, or a stop on your way down to the South West. Our menu of British classics is elevated by restaurant-style touches like yuca fries and curate-your-own starter platters, and our chicken is flame roasted to perfection. We also serve a fine selection of well-kept cask ales as well as wines, spirits, soft drinks, and draught products. We pride ourselves on being pub people serving restaurant food. That’s why every one of our Red Tractor farm-assured chickens is seasoned on site, and roasted until the interior is moist and tender and the skin is perfectly crisp. Our younger guests a...”

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the friendly, welcoming table service, with several describing servers who made them feel relaxed and looked after, one noting how well a server handled their children. Food comes close behind, with reviewers calling the pub food good and the puddings delicious, and one family praising a Christmas day roast for both its taste and the timing of its arrival at the table. Others mention a clean, spacious, modern room and a family atmosphere, and one book club says it returns monthly for the atmosphere and quick service. The main complaint is drink pricing. One reviewer paid more than they do in London for a pint of Beavertown Neck Oil, called the lemonade madness, and said they would return for the food but skip drinks next time. The same reviewer found service prompt until the bill, when they seemed forgotten and ended up paying on the way out. One diner also found the sun glaring through the window throughout the Christmas meal, though the food won them over.

“Had such a lovely experience here! The food was delicious and the whole atmosphere was great, but what really made our visit was our server, Charlie. He was so friendly, attentive and genuinely lovely throughout the whole meal. Nothing was too much trouble and he made us feel really welcome. Great service from start to finish — we’ll definitely be coming back!”

“We had Emma provide us with our table service and we thought she was exceptional. Very quick, very polite and very accommodating towards my children. She acknowledged them and understood them. Emma offered us the table to our preference and was able to have a laugh and a joke with us. We felt very relaxed and even my 6 year old said "she's a lovely lady". Overall our experience at the white willow was very chilled and calming, allowing us to enjoy our lunch time meal.”

“We were doing an overnight stop at the nearby Premier Inn, where they unexpectedly told us they couldn't seat us for dinner (their restaurant was practically empty, by that's another review). So we arrived tired and hungry after a long drive. As soon as we stepped in, and were greeted by Shay and her team, we relaxed. Lovely, friendly service, a nice family atmosphere, and good pub food. Completely saved the day!”

“First time at this restaurant. We met up with my nephew and partner as they live en route from our holiday destination and our home. We were greeted by Shay and taken to our table. Shay was very polite and made us feel really welcome, in fact everyone got a nice welcome from her. We had a really nice dinner, and there was a good selection and the puddings were delicious as well. All the staff were attentive and we would definitely be visiting again when we are down that way.”
