Quantock is a chain pub and restaurant at 95 Wembdon Rd in Bridgwater, with a conservatory seating area. A carvery runs on weekdays, served with homemade Yorkshire pudding and plenty of fresh vegetables. The menu also includes a mixed grill. Customer Review Summary
The carvery draws the most praise, with reviewers describing fresh, perfectly cooked meat in plenty, a varied selection of vegetables kept succulent by a chef who covers them between customers, and the biggest homemade Yorkshire pudding one diner had ever seen. The burger and mixed grill follow, with generous portions of tasty food noted throughout. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, including towards a child with a disability, and newcomers mention being pulled into an impromptu quiz and a bingo night. The complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer describes a long wait for drinks and food ordered through the app in a near empty room, food that was not very nice, broken chairs stacked in the conservatory, and main course plates left on the table until they asked for them to be cleared. Others report missing dip with chicken strips, dishes only warm on a busy carnival day, and loud children, with a wish for a family only section. One diner wanted sticky toffee pudding with ice cream instead of custard, and staff happily swapped it.

“Travelled 275 miles to this area to watch the banger racing. Stumbled across this pub as we enjoy greene king pubs. The manager NICK is an absolute legend here greeted us as we came in, came to our table to check in with us. The atmosphere here is family friendly fun and the bingo was the highlight of the evening listening to old school music. The waiter and waitress who served us were friendly and could have a laugh with them. Nice meeting Will and klaudia, they need a pay rise 😉 The food was exceptional for a greene king one of the best weve had. Highly recommended coming if your in the area. It was that good weve booked a table for the sunday 😀”

“There I was out and about on this extremely hot day giving up the will to live not knowing what to do until it dawned on me I need a lovely family pub where I can relax and let my kids run wild! Look online and seen this place called the quantock, I only know of the quantocks as a place of beauty and thought this place must be the same, how right I was on entry your are greated by a giant who is by far friendlier than the BFG instantly made my family feel welcome nothing was two big of an ask, i have a daughter who is physically disabled and all of the staff made her feel welcome and special. Food was fantastic and served with a smile, all staff were polite and respectful and all appear to work well together the manager ladies (I’m sure they’re sisters) 1 which resembles tinker bell are fantastic great with my children (not that they should Have to) but they made my children feel listened to and treated them as a serving customer rather than a cling on with their parents thank you quantock for a lovely evening”

“Yeah, nice food, delightful burger, mixed grill and carvery. Would be good if there was a section of the building where it is just for families with little kids. We sat down behind this family of 5 and the children were very loud, screaming, so would be nice if there was different areas so I won't have screaming in my ear every 10 seconds. But, relatively good food, and will return.”

“When we arrived the lady behind the counter was very welcoming we went to our table which was in the conservatory there was broken chairs all stacked up. We ordered through the app and we waited over 30 minutes for our drinks we ordered and the place was very empty so they weren’t busy also we ordered food through the app and we again waited about 40-50 minutes our food wasn’t very nice. When we had our desserts delivered to the table our food from our main courses were still on the table we had to ask for the table to be cleared. I think the place has gone down hill and it’s a shame because it used to be a lovely place and lovely food.”

“What's not to love about a weekday carvery! Beautifully cooked and very tasty. The veg was exceptionally varied and all delicious. The chef was most diligent, covering the veg between customers, keeping it all succulent.”
