Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the food after the revamp from the former 60 Million Postcards, with a falafel burger, sausage and mash, a steak sandwich from the lunch special and a Sunday roast all described as delicious or lovely, usually alongside pints of cider. Close behind is the staff, called friendly, helpful and attentive, with several noting the manager and servers who greeted tables and explained the food and drink options. The sunny outdoor tables and the bright, airy new look also draw repeated praise. The complaints are specific. One reviewer objected to beer in plastic glasses during the football, which they were told was due to the licence, and to an average burger at a high price, with the kitchen closing at 9pm while they were still hungry. Another found the chicken tasty but slightly pricey, and disliked the generic playlist through the speakers and the generic artwork, saying the place had lost its soul. That same reviewer said they would raise their rating if the music were fixed and still planned to return.

“My husband and I enjoyed a delicious lunch here. We had the sausage and mash, as well as the steak sandwich offered with the lunch special all washed down with a couple pints of cider. Our meals were delicious and the restaurant is well staged and decorated. Our server Harry was amazing and very friendly, we enjoyed talking with him! We would highly recommend this spot👍🏼”

“Went to The Sun for the first time since it had opened. I was amazed with the new interior and welcoming staff! A special shout out to the manager Harry, who greeted us immediately and told us about all the food and drink options available. It was very refreshing to go into a venue where staff are happy to go up and speak to customers instead of relying on having to find a staff member! Keep up the good work guys, food was amazing, drinks were perfectly chilled. Atmosphere was amazing, especially in the sun outside at the tables. Will definitely be coming back!”

“Beer served in plastic glasses, which for £7 a pint would expect a proper glass, they said it was due to the license while football was shown, but any other pub uses proper glasses. The food was average, £20 burger with standard meat, for that price you would expect more quality. Kitchen closed at 9pm, so we couldn't order more food during the 2nd half when we were still hungry. Had high expectations from this place, but sadly won't be back after this bad experience”
