  “Excellent live music venue! Awesome karaoke Thursday night with Nacho Jase and bargain drinks, and some awesome local live bands Friday & Saturday nights, not that they can be bothered to advertise, with a great vibe to boot, especially when Thunderslug and Blink Daze are playing! Welcoming staff & really good food at a decent price all week long, just had a bit of a refurb too, but they can't fix the mens hand dryer!”

  “We spent £55 for two burgers, a rib, two pints of Coke, and a cider, and it was absolutely not worth it.The service was incredibly disappointing. They advertise a Blue Light discount on their website, but when I asked for it, I was told the "discount button wasn't there" so they couldn't apply it. The blonde manageress gave us a flat, rude NO with zero effort to make it right—no offer of a free drink or any alternative.To make matters worse, the Cokes were completely tasteless and lacked sweetness. We literally laughed at the size of the coleslaw, which came in a tiny metal dish barely big enough for a single mouthful.Save your money. Wetherspoons is a million times better value for money in comparison.”

  “Josh is an exceptional bartender fast and reliable service. Very informative and Brayden was very kind and excellent at pouring my drink fast and with a smile. Overall lovely pub would highly recommend to anyone in the Bournemouth area.”

  “From the moment of going in the place was welcoming. Great service from Lennie. She was very friendly and chatty which is great when visiting from out of town. The breakfast baps were exactly what we all needed. Great food, clean fresh and served hot. Thank you for a great service Lennie.”

  “General Manager (blonde hair with darker sections) is unnecessarily rude, dismissive and even nasty with almost every interaction. After the first interaction months ago, I didn’t feel a review was necessary. I’ve worked in the field previously, and understand that people can have bad and stressful days, which is why I originally chose to ignore it. However, as a regular customer, I have now had multiple unpleasant interactions with the same member of staff, to the point where I’m annoyed I gave her the benefit of doubt in the first place. Generally, I receive constant dirty looks and dismissal. Specifically… - On quite a busy evening, I realised I lost my vape. There were a lot of distractions around me, but I was certain I last had it at the bar. I had just bought this vape and it wasn’t cheap. I politely asked whether anyone had found it or handed it in. She responded with a very dirty look and said “No. And if anyone did hand it in, it would have been thrown away.” My friend, who saw that I was upset, went to ask the other lady behind the bar. I joined her shortly afterwards and was about to explain what had just happened when she happily said, “Oh yes, I saw you left it here earlier… here you go!” So not only was I spoken to like rubbish and left feeling unwelcome, but she was wrong. Had I accepted her answer and walked away, I would have been out of pocket due to someone else’s laziness and hostile attitude. Secondly, on another occasion, I needed to blow my nose, so I went into the bathroom and saw GM standing there with a maintenance man. She immediately turned around, looked at me and abruptly said, “Did you not see the sign?!” (The toilets were closed.) I genuinely hadn’t seen a sign, which I calmly told her. Before I could finish, she interrupted me with, “You can’t have missed it, it was right outside!” I reiterated that I genuinely hadn’t noticed and said that I didn’t need to use the toilet, just needed a tissue (which was within arm’s reach). I was already reaching for one when she told me, “No, you can’t.” At this point, i thought the confrontation and tissue-denial was completely unnecessary... so I took the tissue. And left the toilets wondering why I was met with such animosity…over a tissue which obviously didn’t hinder anything she was doing. I shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable just because I’ve chosen the wrong member of staff to interact with, as there are plenty of lovely members of staff here, and usually enjoy the venue. I am writing this review because I really hope this situation is taken seriously by management because I, along with my friends who are also regulars, am sick of treading on eggshells around someone I don’t even know.”

  “Tbh atmosphere is probably good later in day but I was here at 10.00am with only one other customer. Breakfast was pretty good. Service friendly and professional. I was pretty hungry but this breakfast not for the feint hearted.”

  “Absolutely loved this place. The staff were absolutly brilliant from the start! made us feel welcome and were very helpfull. Drinks were a good price (happy hour) The music that was on in the background was my taste (brilliant !) just overall a brilliant bar. It was the first and last place we went to when visiting. Definitly will be visiting again.”

  “Easy to find a seat, even on a Friday evening. Place was very warm for midsummer—no fans in sight, which made it a bit uncomfortable. The barman seemed quite miserable… a smile wouldn’t hurt! Menus had quirky wording, which I absolutely loved. Food arrived hot, tasty, and portion sizes were just right. Peas were undercooked, but the steak was done exactly as requested. Gammon was lovely—not fatty—and the chips were great too. Drinks come in either small or large, which felt a bit odd. The music? Fabulous. A fun, nostalgic mix of oldies—none of the usual chart stuff, which was refreshing! Would visit again!”
