Customer Review Summary
Burgers draw the most praise, especially the signature burger, which one reviewer calls juicy with a seared crust, though another finds the buns slightly burnt and cold and the meals plain. Waffle fries and buttermilk chicken tenders earn credit too, and a bottomless brunch with cocktails and chicken waffles is described as good value. Reviewers also single out the pilsner, the nitro stout and the pub's own beers, along with friendly staff, a large venue with side rooms and a terrace with beach cottages. The recurring complaints concern handling of orders. One group was told at the bar, after paying, that items were unavailable and was not offered the price difference back. Another asked for unsalted chips to replace a heavily salted side and was told a second portion would have to be paid for. A group of 18 found the food fine but not great, with sweet gravy dishes. One reviewer was left with a pint, a table-ordering app that worked well, and dogs welcome at the table.

“This used to be a semi decent pub with three levels of seating including the roof terrace. It's now been taken over and no longer offers NHS discount. Plus the hygiene standards have quite literally gone down the toilet!! They had apparently run out of wine glasses today by the time I arrived at 5:15pm! So everyone's wine was being served in Aperol glasses which clearly hadn't been used or cleaned in forever judging but how disgustingly dirty they were! (see video!). I had to pour my new drink into the glass I had already used as the new glass was so filthy! Spot the difference in the photo (after transferring my drink)! The bar man was miserable, the hand soap in the toilets had already run out by 6pm (and that's not the first time!) and it wasn't even busy! They apparently should open at 12pm every day but many people have complained they don't open until 5pm most days. Definitely WON'T be going back!! Visit The Goat and Tricycle, Smoke 'n' Aces or 99 Cocktail instead.”

“Disappointing visit on Monday. We ordered a side of chips that arrived heavily coated in salt. My 70-year-old mother should control sodium intake, so I politely asked the staff if they could replace them with an unsalted batch so we could season them ourselves. Instead of accommodating a simple fix, we were told "that's just how they come" and that we would have to pay for an entire second portion if we wanted a replacement. You should review your politics cos refusing a reasonable request over a basic kitchen issue and charging customers twice for edible food is terrible customer service.”

“Contemporary pub. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of drinks on tap. Stopped in for late lunch and plenty of tables available, didn't have to wait long for food, would recommend. Baby changing facilities too and high chairs which was super helpful for us.”

“We had a lovely afternoon enjoying a bottomless brunch. The £35 bottomless brunch including cocktails gave us very good value for money. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon so we knew we would be here for a while so we opted for the bottomless brunch. The food was excellent (chicken waffles and signature burger) and we had freshly made cocktails all for £35! We would have spent more than that individually for the hours we were here. Our waitress Scarlett was attentive and always made sure we had a cocktail on the go, so thank you! We wouldn't hesitate to visit again. The cocktails and food was all great, and we loved the music choice!”

“This pub is an absolute gem in Bournemouth. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a warm and cosy atmosphere. The lighting, with its hanging lamps, creates just the right level of ambience—soft yet sufficient. The upper floor, accessible by a staircase, offers a great view of the lower level, adding a sense of openness to the space. The menu has recently been updated, and I must say, it’s a fantastic improvement. I had the Crafthouse Signature Burger, Big Cheese Waffle Fries, and Buttermilk Chicken Tenders—all excellent, but the burger and chicken tenders stood out. The Crafthouse Signature Burger is easily one of the best in Bournemouth. The patty was incredibly juicy and tender, cooked to perfection with a beautifully seared crust. The brioche bun was complementing the texture of the burger perfectly. The only slight downside was that the mustard was a bit overpowering, making it harder to fully appreciate the craft sauce, but overall, it was still a top-tier burger. The waffle fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, just as they should be. The buttermilk chicken tenders had an amazing crunch while remaining moist and flavourful inside—some of the best I’ve had. The drinks selection is equally impressive. I tried their Branksome Nitro Stout, and it was spot on—rich, creamy, and silky smooth, with just the right balance of coffee and chocolate notes. Service was outstanding, with a friendly and knowledgeable team. A special thanks to James, who was incredibly attentive and gave great recommendations. His insights into both the food and beer made the experience even better. If you’re looking for a place in Bournemouth that combines a great pub atmosphere with seriously good food, this is the spot. Highly recommended!”
