Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the atmosphere and music, from a karaoke room to a dance room playing pop, R&B and throwback hits. Bottomless drinks, music bingo and the boozy quiz make Wednesday nights a draw, and a couple of reviewers call the drinks reasonably priced. Close behind are the staff, described as friendly and accommodating, including to non drinkers. Food gets praise too: one coeliac diner called the gluten free pizza among the best they had tried, even though it took a little longer, and another found Blue Hooch on the menu a nostalgic treat while watching the England match from a booked booth. The main complaints are speed and mess. A group of about 18 waited over an hour for pizza after their first drinks, though that reviewer credited staff for trying their best, and a regular says the floor is sticky every visit, turning white trainers black around the edges. One group closed their night having fun pressing the party button in the ladies' toilets and filming videos.

“Went for bottomless with my other half who is Coeliac and the staff were wonderful! They made sure to take all the correct precautions, which did mean one pizza took a lil longer- but we didn’t mind! They tasted fantastic too! One of the best gluten free pizzas we had both had. The atmosphere was lovely and so were all the staff! Defo coming back :D”

“I’ve been here quite a few times now, and I honestly never have a bad night! 🍻🎤 The atmosphere is always brilliant. Whether you’re in the karaoke room singing your heart out or in the other room dancing to pop, R&B and throwback hits, there’s something for everyone. The music is great, the vibe is fun, and it’s one of those places that’s easy to spend hours in. The drinks are reasonably priced too, especially compared to a lot of other bars and clubs, so you don’t feel like you’re spending a fortune all night. One thing I really like is the location. There are loads of places nearby to grab food before or after, as well as shops if you want to pick up some pre-drinks before heading in. the floor… it’s SO sticky! 😂 Every single time I’ve been, it’s been unbelievably sticky. Maybe it’s intentional to stop people slipping if drinks are spilled, I honestly have no idea, but it definitely turned my white trainers black around the edges! Other than that, I genuinely can’t fault the place. Great music, fun atmosphere, good drinks, friendly staff, and I’ve made some brilliant memories here. If you’re in Bournemouth and looking for a guaranteed good night out, Barbara’s Bier Haus is definitely worth a visit! 🥳🍺🎶”
