About All Hail Ale

All Hail Ale is a micropub on Queens Rd in the Westbourne area of Bournemouth, set in a former restaurant. Beer is poured on keg and cask, with the cask beers on handpump, and cans are stocked too. The drinks list changes regularly, and Purbeck Bushey Berry, Siren Lumina and Farmyard Brew The Hoof have all appeared on it. English production runs through the rest of the range. The ciders come on tap and in bottles, and the wines and spirits are English as well. Dogs are welcome inside. Bar snacks are on hand, and pizza from the Italian restaurant next door can be brought in to eat at the pub. Entry is for adults only, with no one under 18 admitted.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the range of craft beer and real ale, with cask and keg on offer alongside bottles and cans from a fridge to drink in or take out. Several mention three casks on handpump and well kept beer, and one praises sours and stouts. Close behind is the knowledgeable, friendly staff, with the bartender and landlord described as helpful about the drinks they stock. Also mentioned are a welcoming, friendly vibe, bar snacks, dog friendliness, and a two man band that took requests from a list on a Thursday. No recurring complaint appears, though one reviewer notes the walk from the railway station is long. Several reviewers highlight the arrangement with the Italian pizza restaurant next door, where the pizza is brought into the pub to eat alongside a pint, with the one request that rubbish be taken away afterwards.
