About The Goat and Tricycle
The Goat and Tricycle is a real ale pub in Bournemouth at 27-29 W Hill Rd. The bar pours a wide range of real ales and beers, with Bass among them. The kitchen serves a roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding and gravy, and mains such as rabbit pie with mash and vegetables. Pickled eggs, pickled onions and a choice of crisps are on hand as bar snacks. A quiz night gives the pub a social side, and board games and games nights add more to play over a pint. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the real ale selection, with Bass and Butcombe named alongside an IPA, and several say they never saw so many ales in one place. Close behind is the home-cooked food: a roast with cauliflower cheese, gravy and Yorkshire pudding, a liver dinner described as turning to pate after a couple of chews, rabbit pie with mash, sausage and mash, and a katsu chicken sandwich with chips. Gravy gets repeated praise. Quiz nights, games nights and board games come up often as a fun way to spend an evening, and several describe a warm welcome and friendly staff, including a solo woman who chatted with the bar staff. One reviewer notes the dog-friendly setup, and another says the food menu is limited on a Sunday, with the kitchen stopping at six in the evening. That reviewer still enjoyed pickled eggs and pickled onions alongside the crisps, and another won a free meal for two at a games night, then ate it the next day as a roast dinner.

“Group of six in Bournemouth for a weekend visiting three local Piers (National Pier Society) - on the Sunday night we look forward to a good pub with real ale - found the Goat and Tricycle on the Camera and other websites. What a find loverly pub, friendly, welcoming, interesting decor, the beer a fantastic selecton Bass & Butcombe - the rare breads - the best!! - had a quiz night on made us feel welcome to join and had a fun time. We missed the food - stops at 18.00 - fair enough on a Sunday - but great to have pickled eggs and pickled onions with the selection of crisps - highly recommend - just look at the selection of beers”

“What a wonderful gem! Felt like a true pub on the approach. As soon as you step inside there is a truly warm welcome. Exceptionally clean. Wow. I mean, they really care about quality and experience. Even the break fire alarm point was clean. Yep, im was trying to gind fault. A picture of a lady( someone important to the pub ) placed centrally on the mantlepiece, caught my eye and already matched the atmosphere. A warm smile shines through this picture. The staff all adopting this. I was made to feel like one of the locals. When the pub started to fill this continued. I ordered an IPA and a roast. If I was in death row. A roast would be my last meal. Well, I would ask this pub to provide it! Best meat and veg, best gravy, best, potatoes, best yorkie and oh my sweet jesus, the cauliflower cheese... all over it. Wow. This pub is and fantastic. The entertainment nights look really intriguing, so much so, I want to get back to Bournemouth sooner that I would have ever thought. Fantastic time. Messaged countless people telling them to get here if they are in the area. Its a must.”

“My partner and I came down to Bournemouth for a long weekend and spent Saturday evening at The Goat. The staff were fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant, and the games night entertainment was great fun. I was lucky enough to win a free meal for two, which we enjoyed the following day as a delicious roast dinner. The food, service, and overall experience were excellent from start to finish. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone visiting Bournemouth, a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a genuinely enjoyable place to spend an evening.”

“Oh. My. DAYYYYS!!! I just ate the BEST liver dinner I've ever had in my WHOLE life. I'm a liver lover. I live for the liver. This is far better than any liver I've EVER had before. Literally turned into pate after a couple chews, while maintaining the taste of the pan sear. If you love liver, you've not lived until you've eaten this liver live, ah swear on me life! Live, love, liver!!!!!! DeLIVER a pint on the house for the chef, this is a piece of art that was put in front of me tonight, DAMN!!! (+2 pints, which may explain my excitemt and boost in enjoyment. FANTASTIC selection of ales too, actually. Never seen so many available at one place)”
