Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to the Sunday roast, with one describing pork porchetta with crackling, roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding and tasty gravy, and another calling the roast faultless. Close behind are the private events in The Forge and the lodge, where wedding guests praised the food and the room's wood burner, and a company team day enjoyed bacon baps, a fruit platter and fresh sandwiches. Diners also name the croquettes with sauce, a lemon posset, the Libertine burger, a monkey IPA, gins, mocktails and a white sangria. Staff draw steady praise as friendly and attentive, and dog-friendly seating was arranged without difficulty. The complaints are small but specific: one party found the roast had run out and only limited substitutions were offered, another found the roast beef overcooked, and one noted chardonnay is missing from the wine list. One couple said the roast they preordered through a reservation was guaranteed for later in the day.

“The online booking process was straightforward and efficient, and our request for a particular table as we were bringing our dog was accommodated without any difficulty. We were looked after by Holly, who provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. She was friendly, attentive and professional, and is a real credit to The Libertine. If only more establishments had staff who delivered this level of service! A thoroughly enjoyable experience, and we look forward to returning.”

“Unfortunately the roast had run out when we ordered. Limited substitutions available but what arrived was good. Good atmosphere as always. Busy pub and good range of beers - my wife always wonders why chardonnay is not on the menu but the alternatives all taste good.”

“We are regulars at the libertine for drinks but we have never eaten there. We went for a Roast yesterday and just WOW… it was faultless! We had a really lovely waitress as well who couldn’t do enough to help (sorry I didn’t catch your name). Thank you to Poppy who helped with our reservation and preordered our dinner so we were guaranteed a roast later on in the day as well. I’m going to be dreaming of it until we can get back for another one! 10/10 no notes!”

“My company held a team day here, using the lodge which is tucked behind the pub. We all agreed the venue added to the day. We felt relaxed because of the environment and how well we were looked after. There was also outdoor seating we could use, which was advertising bonus as the weather was really nice. We had some really tasty bacon baps for breakfast, a beautiful fruit platter to snack on and tasty, well filled sandwiches on really fresh bread for lunch. We were also kept well stocked up on drip filtered coffee, hot water for tea and cold water. The woman who looked after us was fantastic, keeping everything topped up and clearing away efficiently. Highly recommended.”

“Was looking for a local pub for a Sunday roast that was dog friendly. Came across this place in Westbourne and was impressed. Clean and modern with lots of seating inside with seating available outside to the front and a nice little garden terrace to the rear. Had the Sunday roast and it was excellent. Lovely pork porchetta with crackling, roast potatoes, cabbage and carrots as well as a delicious Yorkshire pudding and tasty gravy. Had a lemon posset for pudding which was also great. They had a lovely selection of summery drinks too including some great gins, mocktails and a lovely white sangria.”
